Cockapoos??

Hi everyone.
Do any of you have any knowledge of cockapoos. My beloved dog died last week - I had her from a puppy and she was 17 when she died peacefully at home. She was a Lab/Greyhound cross and I miss her terribly.
The house is SO empty and I would like to fill that space with a puppy who will hopefully be with us for as long...
Have done some research (we hoped the puppy would be with us for a bit before Pip passed on) and like the look and sound of cockapoos. Cant afford the high prices I have initially found online - any advice and/or help very much appreciated.
Thanks
Janie x

What type of dog are you looking for? Being a breeder i have many friends in all kind of breeds! Is it a small, medium or large dog you are wanting?
Theres 2 types of horse owner, a person who owns a horse and a horsey person ;)

Please consider getting a dog from a rescue centre, they are full to bursting at the moment.

In my opinion, and I stress it is only my opinion, all of these designer dog breeds are basically overpriced mongrels, crossbreeds at best.

    Hi
    Thanks so much for replying.
I think I am looking for a small dog but am open to suggestions!
I work in the mornings only and my (new!) husband is happy to work from home mornings while the puppy is young. We are both used to dogs and my children have more or less left home - altho they still bring washing home!!
Any suggestions would be very welcome.
    Thanks again

Heres a website with some cockapoo's on, I don't know what your price range is but these range from £695 - £800. Also there's a search bar on there so you can search specific size etc.. Hope i helped! x

Yes I agree with you. However we have been to our rehoming centre today and they have lovely dogs, but sadly they are too big or too old for my needs. Having just lost a dog after 17 years together, I cant go thru the loss again for a while. Hope you understand what I mean?
    Thanks for your reply.

I've got to second what chez says, go and have a look around your local rescue centre, they may even have a cockapoo...... or some equally lovely small mongrel.

    Rescue dogs love you more!

    Edit: we cross posted!

Sorry you didn't find a suitable dog at the rescue, but PLEASE don't give up! Dogs are always coming and going at the rescues so please try again, or try at other rescue centres.
Some days you're the dog..... most days you're the tree! :D

We had to look round two rescue places before we found our dog, a small Blue Cross place nearby and a large RSPCA place a bit further away (Southridge), so do look round some more rescues to see if you find a suitable dog.

Thanks Norbetsmum and Humphrey 10 for your kind replies. I will keep looking at all the rescue centres, I promise! My first dog, Tizzy, was a rescue dog and was fabulous. The dog I have just lost, Pip, was the result of a "liaison"! By which I mean she wasnt a pedigree and I didnt pay a small fortune for her!
Just feel that as I have just got remarried, I would ike a puppy (or two!) who will be with us for a fair long while?
    Thanks again for your replies
