Sky will argue you should have:
1-Paid the bill early.
2-Got someone to pay it for you.
3-Set up a direct debit
4-Paid by credit card
5-Read their T&C's more carefully.
Either way,Sky wont pay you any compensation & I'd be suprised if they did, having worked for Sky on the Broadband side,I know how they work in this area.0 -
I under stand that, but the problem still remains that they told me if i pay half the bill id get my phone line back. I did pay and they got that wrong. I then payed the rest of the amount and 3 days later they still havent started to unblocked the phone line. (from the day they DO unblock the line it takes 3 days before its restored)0

Yup,Chordiant, the SMS system used by Sky wont allow a service to be unblocked unless the payment has cleared.
HOWEVER the are certain conditions on which a service can been restored.
As for sending an e-mail to another dept, you dont need to do that, the system allows any customer querey to be escallated to the correct dept.
Chordiant may not have allowed your phone to be unblocked without full payment being made & the Sky CSR did'nt tell you the whole truth.I've known that to happen.0 -
I think you are either trolling or lacking in comprehension. If sky wanted all of the money paying in one go, up front, this is what they should have asked for. The fact that they did not meant that the OP got mucked about unnecessarily.... That is a joke, yes? You want compensation for not paying your bills on time?

So you want compensation because YOU didn't pay your bill on time?I also asked for money to be put back onto my sky account for the inconvinance and he said bluntly NO.
You did that yourself with the quote above.I thought this website was to help people, not critisize them, or try to make them look stupid0 -

OMG your so rude. I havent mentioned COMPENSATION, you have!!!!!
ANYWAY....
Got a phonecall from sky this morning appologising as there is a fault with my line. Which has nothing to do with my bill. They said it will take (fingers crossed) 3 - 5 days to ammend. In the meantime they are refunding me a months line rental, which is great.0 -
Most of use would read "I also asked for money to be put back onto my sky account for the inconvinance" as a request for compensation (it was the 3 words "for the inconvenience" which changed the meaning).OMG your so rude. I havent mentioned COMPENSATION, you have!!!!!Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -

Oh ok , but i didnt mean it like that. i meant that as i havent had use of the phone line, and have paid my bill, i shouldnt be paying for a service that im unable to use due to faults.0 -
Many telecoms providers will charge you for reconnection following disconnection for non-payment, then ask for a security deposit, so I think you'd be pushing your luck to expect money back. Compensation for a line fault is obviously a separate matter. No free lunch, and no free laptop
