Sky havent reconnected my phone line, bill is paid in full. Advice please!!!

Hello
I was disconnected on the 10th October, but paid 1/2 my bill and was told i would get my phone back to call out by Monday. But called back monday to be told the person i spoke to didnt send an e-mail to get the restrcition lifted. Was then told it would be back on by Wednesday.

Called back wednesday and it still hadnt been sent!! Was told it would be back on on friday!!!!!

Called friday to be told that i had to pay all the bill 1st, so i paid ALL the bill, and it will be switched on by sunday!!!

Well, well, well, still have no outgoing line, just called them, and the restriction STILL hasnt been lifted!! He has now said it could take until thursday!
(that is if they do it properly this time!!!)

I am SO angrey. I have been waiting since the 10th of Oct, and when i asked for a number or e-mail address he just said go to sky.com and write an e-mail from there. He wouldnt give me any other e-mail or even a phone number!!

I also asked for money to be put back onto my sky account for the inconvinance and he said bluntly NO.

Please can i have some advice. What would you do, what should i do.
GGrrrr im so annoyed :mad::mad::mad::mad:

If you go onto direct debit then you will not risk disconnection in future.

Despite what the CS person said, I find it very unlikely that they would reconnect you if you have only paid half of the outstanding debt so the 'pay it all' comment was probably correct.

I believe some providers ask for a £50 deposit before service is resumed when disconnection has been necessary due to non-payment.
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.

    Hiya
I have never been dissconnected b4, so i did ask if i could pay half the bill and be reconnected. I was answered with yes on 10th october, the 12th october (monday). and the 14th October (wednesday)

It was only on friday 16th that i was told the other people i spoke to were wrong and that i needed to pay the bill in full.

I did pay in full on friday 16th and was told i WOULD have my phone line back by today.

BUT on calling them today, they still havent lifted the restriction!!!!!! And will try to do it by wedneday, but i will need to call back if its not worked!!!!!!!

I thought if you pay 4 a service you should receive one! My bill is now paid in full since friday, and they still havent even started lifting the restriction!
And i keep getting misleading info from customer services!!

At the beggining, when i first spoke to someone they said if i pay half the bill it WOULD be recconected. I paid £65 of my bill (which was half)

Whilst you say that you paid in full on Friday, the payment may not yet have cleared in to the Sky Account, hence the delay.

Best option as suggested by macman, pay by direct debit in future.

Which just confirms that 'advice' from today's CS personnel cannot be relied upon. Training (or lack thereof) appears to mean they make it up as they go along and offer anything to close a deal, answer a complaint or simply reduce their call queue

Yup,Chordiant, the SMS system used by Sky wont allow a service to be unblocked unless the payment has cleared.
HOWEVER the are certain conditions on which a service can been restored.
As for sending an e-mail to another dept, you dont need to do that, the system allows any customer querey to be escallated to the correct dept.

How long were they waiting for you to pay your bill?

That is a joke, yes? You want compensation for not paying your bills on time?

Pay my bills on time or not subscribe to a service?

The chances of Sky giving the OP compensation are, well, anorexicly slim to none as the loss of service was down to the OP paying the bill late & not their doing.

Please dont be rude, theres a reason i havent paid my bill on time, which is personal and i dont want to post it on here.

as for compensations, i ment for them not to charge me for a service im not recieving as they arnt giving me the use of the phone line

As as for you saying for me to pay my bills, i have every month for the past 15 years!

I thought this website was to help people, not critisize them, or try to make them look stupid. I only wanted advice, i now know better next time.
