50 single gifts! Help!

My mum turns 50 in May next year (yes I know we are only in october but I need to start buying now to spread the cost out as much as possible!!!

I would love to buy her 50 things one to represent each year ... I also want to be there when she opens them all which means a 450 mile round trip ;)

I am thinking small and daft presents aswell as nice lovely ones

So what I am asking of you is suggestions please ....

What I have thought of so far is below...


1 - Yankee candle
2 - Socks (avon moisture ones)
3 - incontinence pad
4 - Framed picture of her grandchildren (or of me, oh and the 2 kids)
5 - scrapbook page about my G'dad who we lost in May :(
6 - Posh pen
7 - New diary (maybe small filofax?)
8 - posh wine glass (or whisky glass)
9 - Bottle of wine
10 - Miniature JD
11 - Avon parrafin moisturiser
12 -

    or can u get a photo of her when she was 1 ?
    maybe you could get a note pad and write '50 reasons why we love u' and have everyone she knows family friends ect write things in (example i love you because you sceard away the monsters -by who ever)
    thats all i can think of for now but ill come back if i think of anything else.

    Im sure it was in River Island that i saw some Over the Hill pills and the like.....im doing one of these for my hubbys 40th in a few years so ive been on the look out for little quirky things :)

  • A photo collage of all the major events in her life starting from birth to date.

    A plant with a name of some kind of personal meaning if she is into gardening.

    Some sweets (if you can source them) that she may remember from childhood.

    What a great idea! How about throwing some blasts from the pasts in there too Things that'll remind her of when she was younger. You could make her a perishable type basket and a gift one ? Ideas from me....
