See my + others posts above. Have reached 5k and still getting 3%

Thanks sloughflint. There are that many posts on this that I did not notice your post. Long may it last but I can`t see them letting it go on too long. Still waiting for OH`card which looks like it will never come. She does the shopping so that would push the useage up quite a bit, along with all the clothes.
  • Received a 5.9% LOB offer with my statement. Think I'll stick with the 3% cashback

I've just had this card refused at https://www.boots.com with a 'your payment has not been authorised' type message. I'm curious to know if anybody else has tried purchasing from them, and whether it worked/failed?

I've previously used the card at Boots stores without any problems.

    Thanks

Did you ask them to try it a second time?

Have a look at posts in this thread and elsewhere in the forum. It happens quite a lot with GE cards. With the exception of Asda petrol pumps (where the card is always declined) it seems to happen at random. On one occasion I had to ask an Asda checkout operator to try four or five times before my card was accepted.

This was online, and yes I did make several attempts.

Yes, I'd noticed that. This was the first time it's happened for me though.

  • This happened to me a couple of times with an Egg Money card I had. Both times I had the card handed back to me and an alternative method of payment asked for. I'd be surprised if some retailers re-swiped the cards.

Hmmm, I just had a call from GE security asking if I'd attempted making a purchase at Boots.com, and asking me to confirm I'd made some slightly atypical purchases a couple of days earlier.

Good to know they're 'on the ball' I guess.

And good to know that it's not yet another random rejection.
