The prob with amazon is that even if they cancel the order the following day the order has been picked and sent most of the time or ready to be sent and that to look at every parcel they cant.
This is why i said to use firstclass etc. that gives you more of a chance.
The weirld thing is that at 10pm that night 5 xbox and 4 wireless packs was ready to be sent and 1 wireless pack was still being processed so that as im not getting the 5th wireless pack my guess is that if your order was ready to be sent you will get your order.0 -
My auto confirm email for the order was Fri 21:50
Cancellation email Sat 12:40
Dispatch email Sun 11:08
Delivery arrived today 15:18
It must just be hit & miss then whose orders got pulled because mine went like this:
My auto confirm email for the order was Fri 21:09
Cancellation email Sat 12:10
That was it!!! - nothing further received, no e-mails or deliveries at all :-(
Again, well done to those who did get one

check your amazon account and see if you see the order there. I know when they cancelled it the order has gone but mine is now showing in my orders now. so my guess is that if you see that you will get it otherwise try the xbox and 2 wireless packs for £199 and sell both and you pay £140ish for it.0 -

Thanks delboyphil - it's not showing in my amazon account so I've pretty much given up hope - I'll check the other offer out though - thanks xx:beer:Tara the Jack Russell, gone to the bridge 5 February 2014.

Has anyone who ordered one of these not actually received a despatch email? Call me cynical and sceptical but surely a large company like Amazon has procedures in place to prevent a glitch on this level - why go to the bother of sending out cancellation emails and then people still get their orders? I don't know maybe this is just a marketing ploy for Amazon to get rid of stocks prior to the new version being released?
Don't get me wrong I am well chuffed getting an xbox for this price but something smells fishy....
I think that's taking conspiracy theories a bit far.... I'm sure people at Amazon head office have better things to do than think up this saga...;)
What kind of marketing ploy would that be - making themselves look incompetent? First time I've ever heard of a marketing dept try that strategy - getting a coder to put code in to double a discount, and then get loads of emails sent out cancelling orders and getting your CS department to tell people that on the phone as well, then send them anyway?
Coding errors like that are easy to make, especially easy with doubling discounts. I coded for a large retailer for years and it's not unusual when you have assortments of over 100,000 lines.
These are automated systems - even if you try and intervene - fast picking and delivery times can mean dispatch emails are sent out before you can stop them.
It's the fact that they are a large retailer and have fast response times with their supply chain that things can slip through the net. Maybe they just decided to let it go through as a good-will gesture in the end.
If it was a marketing ploy why not do a big advertising campaign that they're selling a certain number at an incredibly reduced price in the run-up to Christmas - do you really think they wouldn't have sold them at this price and got loads of good publicity into the bargain?0 -
Excellent post Jessi. I couldn't agree more. Xboxgate, this is not
We could all learn a little something from the weather. It pays no attention to criticism.0 -
