.. went back into Asda today after picking up the x50 yesterday, only to see new POS up advertising 50 free digital prints 6"x4" with every digital camera purchase.
Showed my reciept and was handed a voucher, and an apology that the POS only came in today - exp 31.12.06, only 1 voucher per person per visit.

oo thanks, will have to go back with my receipt and try to get one.

Well went and bought a Pentax Optio WP today for £80 as it was a display model, so can now take pictures of ehm...stuff in the bath???

Anyway i also found an X1 at Nuneaton, but as it was a display model (note the contradiction, as my pentax was also display) they couldn't sell it too me for warranty and guarantee reasons. Basically a big pile of bull, Leamington sold me a display pentax, and other users on here have display models. But they won't sell me this display model!

Spoke to the manager who point blanc refused the sale too, saying it would be sent back to the manufacturer...egits!

Konica dimage xg is on resevation for me its badly scrached stickers on it peeling off they are selling it at £40 and 10% on top as its display model but is it worth it? Its only 3.2mp and 3x optical, dont know why they advertise it as 12x zoom as digital zoom is rubbish. they also had an old vivitar a 5mp for 25£ but no zoom etc very cheap looking too.

Just noticed that Aldi has a versatile dig camera this sunday for £79.99. Does not have optical zoom - is that a problem???
Otherwise looks like a good buy....thoughts please (as my local asda did not have many sale cameras left in my budget)

Optical zoom is ESSENTIAL. Forget digital zoom, its useless in 90% of photo's as its basically just cropping the image.

    Thanks for the thanks.
