Shaving Irritation

So glad you found something that works for you. For some people especially those who are allergic to perfumes etc aloe vera gel is brilliant after waxing, shaving or sugaring ya legs. I also use Forever Livings Alpha E Factor oil as a base for shaving my legs and underarms... its brill! My partner uses it to shave his face too! I can even use mydeodrant on my underarms right away which is a bonus.0

I second (or third) the aloe vera gel suggestion. I slather it on my face after using hair-removing cream and it's very, very cool and soothing. You can get it in Holland & Barratt for about a pound0

I also agree with the aloe vera suggestion! I too suffer from mad itchy legs after shaving and the only thing that works for me is aloe vera - I buy it when it's on offer from Holland and Barrett.:DDebt @ LBM - £25,722 Debt now - £11,811 DFD - April 2012

Another vote for exfoliating- it makes a huge difference. It gets rid of all the dead skin cells around the hair so you get a much closer shave, and also reduces the red bumpy effect.
If your legs get very itchy after shaving though I'd do a little patch test first just in case!!Don't suffer alone - if you are experiencing Domestic Abuse contact the National Domestic Abuse Helplines

I agree with the person / people who recommended using an oil based thing before you shave instead of foam/gel. King of Shaves used to do a big spray of oil for women, they have stopped it now, what a pain, so I use their serum for men which comes in a tiny bottle, i only need 2 drops for each leg though, so it doesn't work out too expensive. Like a previous poster i have wondered if baby oil wouldn't work just as well, maybe i'll try it when i run out.
I also used to get the red dots, dry skin etc, with the oil I never do. to the extent that if i have run out of oil i just won't shave my legs (ew), i would never again use shaving foam, or gel, has to be oil based.0 -
Oh i get this if i use a new razor. It's awful and my legs go red hot and itch like crazy all night!
So my method is to not replace my razor and keep using my bluntish one lol, still does the job though.
But when i shave too close and it itches i use Aveeno cream on it which helps, i guess most moisturisers would help though.0 -
I used to have this problem too but I've swtiched to waxing or epilating and dont get the itchyness anymore which is such a relief!0

I find a good quality razor helps, and I always shave my legs at the end of my shower when they've had nice hot water running over them for 10 mins.
Cheap razors make my legs itch after shaving!Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
