  • Another vote for noodles here, and also i always buy the sp 'pot' noodles as well, have one for my dinner in work, lovely and only about 140 kcals.
  • We really like the Asda Smartprice Australian and South African red and white wines in the 3 litre boxes - usually between £11.50 and £11.99 a box :)

I like the bourbon biscuits and the baked beans are the best but I find they are best cooked in a pan, not the microwave so you can thicken the sauce up a bit.
  • My chickens go mad for the smart price noodles (without the flavouring).:j

    Hi all
Smartprice items that we have tried are
SP fabric softener- excellent smells nice when drying on the line or tumble dryer
    SP flour
    SP Gin and Vodka
    SP Toilet cleaner
SP Dog mixer- Brilliant much cheaper than Lidl and the dogs love it
    SP block air freshners- Brilliant
SP loo Rolls- ok dont last as long as the leading brand not as soft
SP beans and Spagetti lovely taste like Heinz
    SP Tuna

our dogs love the Hero dog foods. we buy as many asda brands a possible they are great:D

    Hi,

Following the success of the Sainsbury's post on good/bad items thought it might be worth having a Asda one for those who don't have a Sainsbury's nearby..

I personally have not tried much from their range however one product I love is :-

Smart Price ready salted crisps - these are so lovely and I always pick some up when I go, although don't have Asda near me
    .

smart price curry sauce is a puzzle to me , daughter loves it , and uses it for a dipping sauce , or a base for a diy curry by adding cupboard ingredients , my puzzle is a large jar cost me 4!... tho this week i stocked up and it was 9p!!
  • I like quite a bit of the SP stuff but the SP Malt Loaf is terrible. Really dry.

i regularly do online shopping with asda and about 90% of my order is normally smartprice items

the only things i've had real problems with are:

mixed frozen veg -this has a very sour twang to it

sweetcorn - last batch i had from them didn't have the poiny bits of the kernels cut off and was sooooooo tough that even after 6 hours in a slow cooker it was still tough and chewy like field corn. i'm not sure if they'd changed suppliers or not but i don't remember this being a problem before however because of this i won't order the sweetcorn anymore

spaghetti and noodles - weird twang to me, chemical tasting

    things i REALLY like are:

    nacho chips
    toilet paper
    pate
    curry sauce
    baked beans
    cheese

and there are all the things in between that we find more than acceptable, overall i'm fairly satisfied with the range and even if i were to buy these things in store i wouldn't be ashamed to have others see so much of my trolley dominated by the old white and green smartprice logos

Tinned tomatoes are really good, and I love the tortilla crisps. My mum used to always buy the cookies, but I don't rate them - not enough choc chips! Their jaffa cakes are pretty good though

Not SP but own brand take-a-break biscuits are yummier than kit kats, 3 packs of 8 for £2.
