another small update :j i have just closed my cc2 account, i am sooo happy that temptation isnt there
Anyway i have another question for you, cc1 will recive there money tommorow (ie it will clear and show on my account) now what do you think i should do :rolleyes: should i close the account or keep it? it has a limit of £360.00 so its not massive but i cant decide

Just close it posting
You know you dont NEED one.
I recommend once you have your car, you might want one then in case of any emergencies ( i had to use mine when my car blew up miles away from home to pay for a hotel while my car was in the garage etc) TBH, a 360 limit is useless really, so you may as well close it for now, and then later on you can get another with a higher limit for emergencies only.
thats what Id do if I were you anyway:beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
:j i am debt free :j from the day i first posted about my finances 14/05/06 i have put 100% into this day, many of you might say it was only a little debt but to me it was huge. I must say though it hasnt been easy, i have had to give up and sell things that i loved but today i am happy. I would love to say that i will never get to this stage again but me being young there is a fair chance i will, but i will but all my effort into not becoming credit/debt dependant again. Good luck all those that have either just started there journey or near the end, you will all get there0

Congratulations, well done on making it through the toughest, but ultimately best month of your life!
Good luck with the driving and saving you are about to do0 -
PS, get rid of the debt card
At the moment it wont have any value to you0 -
just an update - i know its quite boring but i passed my theory test :j so now i have stuck to my end of the bargain and booked lessons, they start monday, and this time its with a man (hopefully he can undo/put straight what those two ladies have taught me in the 12 hours)
so its exactly a month since my stupid last post with a soa and this is my new onewith no debts :beer:
£38.00 - bt/internet (£11.00 my mum gives me back)
£30.00 - orange/mobile (will be cancelled in aug for payg)
£50.00 - bus card (month)
£120.00 - housekeeping
£10.00 - savings
£3.20 - online game
subtotal = £251.20
£158.00 - driving lessons :eek: (if i get on with this instuctor i will prebook 10hours next month for £185.00 which will save me £17.50)
total = £409.20
ok i think that is still bad but with no debts its quite good..... well i think?btw i cant close my cc1 untill the statement comes through :mad: how daft is that!!

Yay - well done posting! Congratulations - you'll be whizzing around the roads in no time and don't let the mean driving instructors put you off undertaking this - as being able to drive will give you more freedom and allow you to apply for different jobs (key skill).
In terms of your SOA - I wish it was mine! It looks well thought out and manageable - however, I guess that depends what your income is? I hope you still have some money for yourself and are you now starting to save for the car?
scottishspendaholic xMBNA = £4,000 / Next = £925 (approx. tbc on 19/8)
Tesco = £2,910.11 / Smile overdraft = £500
Bank of Scotland = £2,782.830 -

hi scottishthanks
i am not going to give up now, my mum had a nice but firm chat with me and even if it takes me a year after i pass my test to buy a car i will do iti know i have had bad experiences but i am going to start afresh and i will get there
*positive thinking*
well the lowest i have ever taken home (per month) was £650.00 but usually its about £700.00 (after stopages) but with overtime i usually get £780.00So even if i get the least i will still have around £240.80 which of £150.00+ i will save every month :j

Well done posting. You have done amazingly amazingly well. Who would have thought you would have got this far in so short a time, debt free and already started saving for your car And passing your theory test. I am very impressed:TThe forest would be very silent if no birds sang except for the birds that sang the best0
