Oh dear I am sorry to hear your news Cranky.

Today is cold and a bit cloudy.
We had to have the wasp man out to destroy 2 nests that had appeared in the roof since the summer.
I went up yesterday to check the water tank as I could see the overflow dripping and the cover sometimes slips down into the water and needs straightening out.
I Noticed the little brown golfball hanging from the rafters and after straightening the water tank covers, was soon joined by a couple of wasps ,interested in the new comer. I legged it carefully down the ladder again. He came around 9 and found another one while he was up there.
Puss is lying on my sons bed curled up asleep, he seems to crave company more in the colder weather as usually he would be outside or downstairs somewhere. We act as human heat sources I suppose.
Tonights meal is left over curry(curried liver and bacon and veg) from yesterday and a microwaved baked potato.
We still dont have the heating on, we go running a couple of evenings a week and it is amazing how long we are warm when we get back.
    All the best

Not much else has been achieved yet today - forgot to go library earlier this week my local one is shut today but have found one in another village so off there in a bit.x

    Afternoon all,

Thanks for making me feel so welcome!!!

Diva, if your looking for some card inspiration have you checked out You Tube? There are some amazing demos, if you search for splitcoaststampers some of her cards are stunning and although they look really hard to make they're really easy, theres also make a card monday by a very nice lady that has some reallysimple but pretty cards! I'm in the middle of making a chrsitmas planner, advent calendar, cards etc for christmas and have found some amazing stuff on the web!!!!

Well I had a nice surprise this morning when I come to make Bailey's packed lunch as other half had made it last night before he went to work!! he is such an amazing man!!! I'm going to make some meals up tonight with the chicken from yesterday and will freeze them for the upcoming week!

Janiebaby29 - if you want any help with the cupcake research i'd be happy to help as it's one of my favourite hobbies. If you like the american style cupcake toppers then I would be happy to show you how to make them! My dream is to one day have my own cupcake shop in Canada (will have to qualify as an accountant first and save save save) ohh such a happy dream!!!

Nomoneymummy - good for you for standing up for your friend, she is lucky to have you!

Bitsy - I know it's hard but look on the positive side, knowing what his diagnosis is will mean you can make his life better as you will learn how to manage situations better and understand why he does what he does and not just think it's becuase of something you've said or done. Big Hugs x

Well almost time for lunch to end, can't wait to get home and see hubby, he's a fireman and has been on night shifts so I haven't seen him for three days as he leaves just before i get in!

    Hugs to all x

Just a quick post from me, I'm due to pick my friends up at train station at 4pm, then the partying beginings :)

Work has flown by so far, but will drag now. I'm the only one in office so don't feel like working too hard!

Only OS-ness today was a quick tidy of the flat.

    Have good evening all

Wow Nikkei, your man makes the packed lunch and is also a fireman!? He sounds just perfect ;)

    Very slow afternoon chez Thrift.

I've cleaned my bathroom and loo. They now smell fresh and fragrant but not 'chemically' courtesy of Method cleaning products ;)

My washing is blowing on the line. I've just been reading an American frugal blog where writer decided against a clothesline because 1) the neighbours would object and 2) it would give the impression of poverty. I came away feeling very  and :rolleyes:.

    Afternoon all.

My washing is blowing on the line too, Thriftlady. It started out in the bathroom on the A-frame as it was raining this morning, but now the sun's out so I've shifted it outside.

I had a great big bundle of membership renewals to process this morning (pity I don't get paid for it LOL) so that kept me out of mischief for a couple of hours.

Dins tonight will be nut loaf with sweet'n'sour sauce and rice - there's just two slices of nut loaf left in the freezer, and I can use up a plastic box with just a few bits of pineapple left in, so I'll have a bit of freezer space.:j

I think we'll have a quiet evening - Mr LW's got a cold (luckily he doesn't seem to get man-flu LOL) and we have a busy weekend - apart from all the usual weekend chores, we have to visit Stony Strafford market for fruit'n'veg tomorrow, and Woburn Sands Farmers Market on Sunday, then we're attending a concert by Damh the Bard on Sunday evening.

Cranky I think Pixel is a super name for the kitten. In the British Computer Society e-newsletter, there's a gaming section written by "Count Pixel".:o

Anyway, must go and do something useful (after a coffee perhaps....:D) so ((((HUGS)))) to all who want/need one today.

Thanks for all the hugs and comments regarding DS. We thought it could be a possibility but to hear the experts voice their suspicions makes it all the more likely and real IYSWIM. Assuming their concerns are correct he appears to show mild symptoms - it's really his lack of interest in socialising with his peers and some of his communication skills that are the biggest issue.
Still he's happy and healthy and I can't ask for more than that. I suppose in one way I'd rather have a firm diagnosis than a vague "we're not really sure what the problem is" and the fact that he is young means we get much better support. I am sure he will be fine - he copes OK in mainstream nursery so far.

Also had pain in my lower abdomen this morning (since yesterday). Went to the Docs - I am not poorly enough for it to be appendicitis as I don't have temp or vomiting but oh my word it was really tender when she was prodding and poking OUCH! I really hope it doesn't develop into anything serious over the weekend!

    Have a lovely afternoon xx
