Morning all:wave:
Those bushfires sound alarming Aussie. You seem to be having a lot of extreme weather this year.
No bushfires in Worcester just falling leaves and damp.
We're all full of Scotch pancakes spread with butter and golden syrup which was our breakfast today. So quick and easy to make. I freeze the leftovers until I have enough for a free breakfast.
Lunchboxes are cheese rolls, oaty blackberry muffins, apples and 2 sweeties each. It's Friday!
Supper will be Chinese style minced pork stir-fried with home sprouted beansprouts, carrots, peppers, onions and peas plus rice. Hopefully that will make 250g pork feed 5.
Bathroom and loo to clean, library books to return, bed to make, laundry to do, 2 kids to get vaccinated against flu (ordinary flu) and wine to drink0 -
Hello to all, I was just lurking, but got more deeply involved than I thought I was going to.
N9eav, I followed your tortoise case link. It was amusingly, but sensitively written, and I was boiling to have a go at the thieves myself when I’d finished reading it, so good luck with the case.
Bitsy Beans, I was only thinking last night how lucky I’d been with my son, as our family seem to produce autism spectrum boys, and my sister is in a similar position to you. She’s in teaching, so I think that made her fear things would be worse than they are. My nephew is fine, the diagnosis just helps with how adults around him need to deal with him. Are you involved in education, my memory’s rotten, but I seem to have picked that up from somewhere in your previous posts?
I’ve had a bit of a new lease of life yesterday and to day. I’d spent the week gradually coming down with something, which after a revoltingly snuffly evening, suddenly disappeared. I was a whirlwind at work (occasionally efficient even!) and have zipped through a list of household chores that would normally take about a week. Up at 5:30 this morning, and finished off my list. I’m now waiting for a friend to turn up, as we’re going to “Country Baskets” this lunchtime.
I’m hanging on for news about two very different friends of mine, one’s been diagnosed with Bone marrow Lymphoma, and the other is having similar tests. I’m a bit unsure right now of how to support them, so clues in that direction would be very welcome.
D.D. due to stay for the weekend, with D.S. living back here for the "time being" (!) we'll have a full house tonight
Love to all

morning!
another day off for DH and me!:j we're going out later but havent decided where yet, going to take a picnic. I've put a stew in the slowcooker for tea just got the dumplings to make later on.
Washing in machine.
Mums just popped in with a scrabble game for DS2.
Hopefully we'll finish the bathroom this evening too.
PP - (((hugs))) hope you're feeling a bit more comfy today x x x
Bitsy - that diagnosis isn't the end of the world as we had exactly the same one with DS2 when he was 3(autistic tendencies-language disorder). After a lot of early help he eventually went on to 'normal' school and passed his GCSEs and is now at college and has a huge group of friends and is a delightful young man(if I do say so myself:D) x x x
Topher - hope your friends get the results they want, best thing you can do for them is listen x
hope you all have a good day xDo what you love :happyhear0 -

Hugs to all those who need them have a good day0 -
:hello:Good morning! Damp and windy here this morning, but at least it's stopped raining.
We went to DD2's yesterday to collect a pine chest of drawers. It used to be hers when she lived at home, then she took it with her when she moved in with her bf (who's now her DH) and used it for a while for DGS's stuff. Then they got him a nice red chest of drawers from Ikea, and didn't have room for the pine one, so it's been on the covered area of their patio for a couple of years, with a tarpaulin over it. We've been meaning to pick it up for ages, then other things would intervene. It's now on our landing with towels and some bedding in it :jand the landing looks much tidier. I had a good sort through the towels and have several old ones going rather bald, so will give some to DD1 for the dogs, and keep some for emergency mopping up of spills!
Bitsy - ((HUGS)), what a shock, but if DS is mildly autistic, it's great that he is being diagnosed so young. Our son-in-law (DD1's DH) is 41 and has only just been told he's "on the bottom end" of the autism scale which has explained a lot. When he was at school in the 70s, not so much was known about it, so the teachers just told him he was thick! As you can imagine, it didn't do a lot for either his self-esteem or his education! He's actually very intelligent, but no one ever knew that when he was at school. He needed glasses too, but no one ever thought of that either
Penny Penguin - Glad you're back x
Penny_Pincher - You poor thing, what a nasty accidentand I bet you feel even stiffer this morning. I hope everything heals ASAP. x
Topher -Glad you feel better! Don't go too mad doing stuff though!
redruby - That's great news about the chain! Hope all goes ok now!
Essex-girl - Thinking of you, hope it all gets sorted to everyone's satisfaction if possible, but at least to yours!
Hester - Ditto!
tired mum - Hope you have a good day with your Mum! We are going over there on Monday I hope, as it'll be my birthday so I'd like to go to Bella Italia for lunch;) DH doesn't know yet
Cranky - Glad the Padre came to see you, he sounds very nice. I hope the rest of Paul's things turn up soon. I think the kitten is a brilliant idea xx
N9eav - Thinking of you and the family. It's good that your DWife has lots of siblings x
(((HUGS))) for all in need.
Not sure what's for dinner tonight, I've got some stew in the freezer so I'm torn betwen getting that out, or going and buying something else in case I'm not up to cooking in near future, in which case i might be awfully glad the stew's still there
I must go and browse my Nigel Slater cookbooks in a minute, as I have no idea what to cook next week and all my other cookbooks have a sofa in the way of them atm - Our new one came on Tuesday but we've still got the old one, and tbh I think we'd both rather like to keep it as it's nice to have a bit more seating even though some of it's rather scruffyThe Nigel Slater books just happened to be in a different bookcase! Actually I do have a couple in the kitchen, including Delias Complete Cookery Course and the GH one, so I think I'll manage
I'd forgotten they were there!

Good Morning all,
MSD I was ,as they say up and down like a fiddlers elbow last night.Just couldn't sleep properly and my joints felt so stiff I got up in the end and sat and surfed for awhile,I do that then find I can sleep a bit better once my joints have got moving again.O the joys of getting old and achy.
Just had a phone call from the breast care clinic to say my new bra's are in, so hopefully on Tuesday I shall be on a more even keel so to speak instead of being a tad lop-sided:rotfl:It might help with my backache as well. Today I am off to my history class this afternoon, its the one I do for fun, as we all have hysterics at times as our tutor finds all sorts of odd facts about history to tell us,she is a great teacher and its suprising what you pick up even with all the fun.
I am looking forward to tonights programme on ITV at 8.00.p.m. I wonder if we will be able to pick out who is on with Martin.
The weather isn't cold here but is very grey and cloudy,no heating on yet, so at least it will help keep the bills down. Right I'm off to do some arm excercises to loosen up my joints a bit.have a good dayeveryone and <<hugs>> to those who are feeling sad
Cheers JackieO xx0 -
Morning all!
Grey and drizzly here today! Got dd1 and ds home today, and INSET day, dd is singing in her room and generally being industrious with homework, ds amazingly is up and out of bed, but only cos his friend rocked up! No idea what they fancy doing, slobbing out I expect, could do with a rest after dd3 yesterday and her cooking plans!
OS stuff so far has been some tidying and washing up the last of the pots from last night, and lock n locking the leftover potatoes and rice, still some burgers left too, but no doubt ds will take care of them later! Need to sort out some more washing, put other washing away and do some de-cobwebbing! Those spiders sure spin fast!
Packed lunches today were cheese sarnies, apple and mincemeat braid, apple, satsuma and crisps (the ones with the little blue bags to add your own salt, how I loved them as a kid, was quite excited when I bought them lol!)
Home lunches will be leftovers from the fridge/something on toast.
Dinner tonight will be something quick for kids, poss pasta or soup, as they are with their dad this weekend, I shall be eating with oh, so will be whatever I find in his cupboards and fridge!
Was meant to be going out with a friend tonight to an Ann Summers party, but won't be going anywhere unless my sinuses become less painful, all I'm doing is squinting and sniffing and it's made me a bit deaf too, so I don't think anyone would really want to spend too much time with me anyway lol! So may just be a night in front of the box, coffee and catch up time now xxGC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000 -
Hi all,
Quick post as Im due another crazy day,
hope everyones good?
Didnt manage to get to bed till around 3 as my best bud & neighbours house was being broken into about midnight, I'd not long got in from work and heard a bang and 3 teenage boys were kicking in her front door!!!!
Her and her little one (5 yrs) were in upstairs and scared!! Me being dumb shoved some jeans on and went out into the street yelling!!! Thank god they ran off as I hadn't really thought past that point!!! (Im only 5"5 and a lover not a fighter!!:D)
Was really an odd thing! has been no trouble round here for years and cant think of a reason they would start kicking in her front door??? Unless they know shes on her own etc etc????So anyway did my Hannah to the rescue bit completly forgetting the OH is in bed and 6"4 and much scarier looking than me (though it takes a nuclear disaster to wake him!!!)
Was in much trouble of him when he finally woke this morning and realised what I'd done, But rather that than they got into her house!!
Well anyway to all the true blood fans , please find the Sookie Stackhouse novels!!! There amazing and explain a few bits that will happen later in the show and happened in first few episodes ie the bit with the chain around the mans neck in the first episode etc!;)!! Eric is amazing btw and Godrick if you've met him yet??? ( I love Godrick!!)
No spoilers at all but really the show gets sooo much better, trust me, i've just finished watching season 2 and am waiting for season 3 to air, there is a true blood fansite that streams broadcasts (free!!!) around the same time the us were being aired.
Cant wait for season 3 now!!!!!:T:T
Has gone to play on her own little world for a bit..... but its ok the voices in her head came too so she's not alone0 -
Afternoon all :hello:
Well done for frightening the thugs nomoneymummy. :T
Hope you feel better later mummysaver. x
Hope you and George are doing ok today Cranky.
Sorry about that news Bitsy but at least there is lots of support there for you all. xxx
I've been rushing round like the proverbial this morning, getting the girls ready for their trip. I will really miss them but they will have lots of fun with Grandma and Grandad.
They're just having some cheese and crackers and fruit and then I need to drive them to Grandmas which is an hour away but it's a georgeous autumn day so I don't mind.
OH is going to take some time off so we will just have a lazy few days although we are planning on getting on top of the garden, restoring the lving room fireplace, plastering the bedroom ceiling after the latest leak and lots of fungal forays and berry picking.
Have defrosted lamb mince to make OH's favourite keema peas tonight and have a good bottle of wine hidden away for later.
Take care everyone
Haribo x0
