Recently purchase ours from Cargo, excellent quality though we did get a bit messed around waiting for it to be delivered. Couldnt fault anything else. I was able to buy a loyalty card for £5 which gave me 10% off, also negotiated free delivery (though think it might be a permanent offer now) which saved another £500

I am concerned now, I was going to go and order my new Sofa tonight from DFS but we was going to do the years no payment.
If I set the payments to come off our credit card we would technically be slightly safer??? Or am I wrong in thinking this???
We have been told that the sofa will come before christmas which I hope is true! ....
Can someone advise me or should I go in store and confront them???Save Save Save.....

Confront them? What about? Quite honestly I wouldn't even consider the year's-no-payment thing with DFS. By the time you've just started paying for the furniture they'll be almost ready to be replaced. Imagine how you'll resent being saddled with tat you're still paying for and perhaps can't afford to replace.
The ebay suggestion made back on the first page is an excellent one imo. I coveted some Sofa Workshop ones but could never afford one new so scoured ebay for weeks and weeks till I found two. One I paid £100 for and the other £50 and they are beauties in immaculate condition and so comfy. That they don't match is irrelevant and I'm still delighted with them two years later0 -
Tesco are are doing a buy one sofa get one free offer at the moment that might be worth checking out. Not sure of there quality though.0

Don't forget Ikea - I have quite a few friends and family that have various Ikea sofas and chairs and they're great quality - plus with the majority of them you can buy different covers (many of which you can machine wash) to update it. I've had an Ikea sofabed-chair for about 5 years now and it's as solid as when I first bought it.
Most ikea stores do have a delivery, which is about £50, but they deliver whatever you're buying, so ask friends and family if they'd like anything too.0 -
That is true - we have an Ikea sofa bed - which is great! We actually bought of friends when he was moving for £30! We got a new cover from Ikea, and it is like new - it is in our guest room, and I can tell from my own experience, it is comfortable to sleep on too, and it is a proper double bed size for sleeping. When we were buying our main sofa, Ikea unfortunately didn't do recliners. We would have been down there straight away. We also have Poang chair, which is fantastic.Spring into Spring 2015 - 0.7/12lb0

Not sure what your budget is but I ordered a new sofa from Habitat a few weeks ago. At the time there was 20% off in store and 20% off in Elle magazine - even though I didn't have the voucher when I was in the store they gave me both discounts. My sofa was £1349 and I got it for £831. It went back up to full price the following week so I was very happy!
They have 20% off some others at the moment.
I couldn't find one sofa I liked in DFS!! There was one in IKEA that I considered I thought it didnt look as well made.0 -
Is there a Multi York showroom near you? They have good quality sofas and armchairs which come in a range of firmness and they have a wide range of selected fabrics too. They are not cheap but when you're buying furniture it's worth paying a little more to get something which lasts the test of time.0

Do NOT buy from Debenhams. Bought a sofa last November (early on), delivered mid Jan, only just been "fixed" after fighting with them via Trading Standards. Lets just say they tried ignoring me but it didn't work:D Customer Service are scarily incompetent, even took to annoying the head of Customer Services via email:D0

We bought ours from Multiyork. They are now 6 yrs old and still look practically new even with 2 children in the house! They cost us 4k in total (one sofa is leather - large 3 seater - other is fabric 2 seater) and we have never regretted forking out for them. They are SO comfortable, haven't sagged or broken and we had the cushions filled to our exact requirements. Out of all the furniture purchases in our home, these are the ones I am so glad we spent as much as we could afford on. Multiyork were doing interest free credit but not sure if they still do.0
