  • i only needed that one, to complete now i can relax all done!!
  • I'm always careful about my listing times and try never to end things when something popular is on the TV. I never tend to list anything on a weekend as I never seem to sell anything on those days, I tend to prefer Monday, Tuesday and Thursday to end things.

Obviously last night the excitement of Jedward was more than the excitement of buying Hamsters.

I refuse to give in to ebay but keep checking just in case someone has a heart and will sell at cost....but No chance. Have made offers on stuff for one or 2 quid over but always declined.

Don't forget that if a seller put something on at the RRP, they would actually be losing out because that wouldn't account for any delivery charges or the costs incurred in getting it in the first place - such as petrol, bus fairs etc. So with the high listing and selling fees on ebay as well, people have to put things on for more than the RRP or they would be actually giving it away for less than it cost them - and no one is going to do that - they are not a charity. Also, if anyone did put something very cheap on, another seller would just nab it quick and resell it at a much higher price. The best way to catch any new things listed, so you can nab them quick if necessary (you have to be registered with ebay I think), is to do a search for what you want, then when the search page comes up, to the right side of 2,727 results found for go go hamster (or whatever) you click on save this search. This then brings another pop up box up which enables you to select the option of ebay emailing you for however many months you chose, when any new items are listed that meets that search criteria. Hope that might be useful info to some.

  • I normally search for something, then change it to 'Newly Listed' items, then save it in my favourites list and just click on my link and see what has been added.

There will probably be lots being listed today on Ebay (free listing day) so might be worth checking that there is one nice person who isn't out to make too much money.

I can't believe the prices people are paying on e-bay. For a start what is it teaching children about the value of money.
Sometimes you have to teach a child no matter how much they want something that they can't always have it.
DD1 asked for these and DD2 had seen them on you tube (DD1 showed her lol) and loved them, but I explainned father christmas is having trouble getting the hamsters so we might not be able to get them for christmas, but we might have to have them for brithdays next year.

I was lucky and thanks to the wonderful peeps on here picked up 2 hammies and the funhouse from character (and these arrived last week). So DD1 and DD2 will at least have the basics. Have 2 items "awaiting stock" at play as well, but won't bank on them till it goes through.
I reckon next week character get there next order and as well as their own website they will be distrubuting to many other sellers, so will be loads in the run up to christmas anyway, but no way would I pay over the odds.

I also think many greedy sellers on ebay et al will be left with excess stock after christmas, look out for cut prices in January.

    Good hunting

apparently someone posted last night Chunk sold for £12.99 on ebay - must be the X factor too!

I see X Factor and I'm a celebrity get me out of here dominates a Sunday night so if anyone is on the hunt on ebay, check what auctions are coming to an end when these programmes are on as you may get whatever you want for a slightly lower price - now, I must just go back and change the time of my listings...joke! :rotfl:

I have plenty of experience buying and selling on ebay...and know that if you list items brand new you need to cover all costs, so really don't blame sellers for that. i guess it's just the same old thing of sellers only buying to sell on for a huge profit that bugs me. When i make offers this doesn't include delivery charges that would obviously be added on to the sale price. I really dont mind paying a few quid more but will not pay double of cost price........i will not give in to ebay, i will not give in to ebay...I WILL NOT GIVE IN TO EBAY :D
