but the auctions are more 'realistic' i guess it is personal opinion and perspective. one person may prefer to pay 20 quid plus 2 post for a hamster they know they have defo won. then that is it done and dusted. if you buy from TRU or HFT then it is 10 plus 5 for postage and sittin on the pc refreshing all day to find stock, so that is 15 quid plus time/stress

or u can call and drive round and save the delivery charge, but then you have time, phone calls and petrol

so sometimes people will just take the hamster at 20 quid

    does that make sense?

That is fine for a Hamster or an add on but £29.99 for a carrier or bed!!! I got my carriers for £4.99 when I was doing a Sainsbury's shop, a carrier is not an essential part of the set like a hamster or house.

  • yes i totally agree that 30 is obscene for a carrier! they are seriously taking the mick and advantage. i have no problem with people puttin stuff on for 99p and que sera sera but the 599 BIN and that BIN are just a horrifying joke

  • Just did a search for Go Go Hamsters on Ebay and the first auction finishing was a Chunk which was at £22 and it went up to £26.05 in the last minute. It's quite interesting to see what people are prepared to bid up to.

Don't know if this means anything but when you refresh the tesco.com pages with the go go stuff on now, the house has moved to the top of the list...

  • A Ball sold for £37 + £3.50 post.

At the end of the day I suppose it's up to people to decide how much they want to pay for things no one forces anyone to pay those prices and probably better to pay over the odds now than in 2-4 weeks when they will be going for even more money.

  • nothing at asda or tesco in ayr...
  • Maybe the people buying the carriers, balls etc on ebay are selling other hamster stuff on ebay.... making money on one thing and using it to pay for another IYSWIM?? Then technically it wouldn't cost them much. Just a thought!!

I think there are sellers that set their preferences so they get e mail notifications as soon as someone lists some go go hamster stuff and if they can get it cheapish, then they'll buy and list it themselves nearer Christmas in the hope of getting more than they paid for it.
