My LO is only 18 months so thankfully I've no need for them, and I can't be bothered trying to make a fiver on ebay

Don't! I've managed to find two hamster today in a small shopping centre in two different shops. There are some still about.

I just hate it when people are totally ripping us of, the prices on ebay are ridiculous, people should be ashamed of themselves, these toys are for children - it shouldn't be about ripping people off, it should be about making children smile on Christmas morning and parents pleased to see them happy after searching high and low and trawling the internet for weeks on end trying to find their dear little darlings the perfect Christmas present!
  • Ramsdens Toy Store Grimsby has the fun houses in stock 24.99 I went in this afternoon (already got my complete set) for other things, and they had them on a huge display, probably about 25 to 30 of them. Also had quite a lot of the hamsters in, got talking to the staff about them, and they said they had people driving form 3 hours away just to get them. Said they were expecting another delivery today or this week, but didn;t know what of. It wasn't very busy in there, and while I was there for about 40 mins, nobody seemed to be bothering with them.

Also, in response to a previous post, I have used Heroes for Kids before, for some school stuff (lunch box etc) for my daughter last year, and I received the products Ok, with no problems.

Hope this helps you all, even if one person gets what they want, its worth posting this, as I know what its like searching all over for the stuff.

    Good Luck
  • My local Wilkinson had quite a few Hamsters when I went in there today but nothing else. They were £9.97 each.

I've not used Heroes for kids before but have looked at their site before.

I just want a pink bed....I can sort the other stuff out after xmas, but this is on "the list". I'm lucky - managed to get a house and a hamster. It's not the end of the world, I know. I might have to resort to e-bay....I swore I wouldn't but I am so tired of looking! At what point to you give up (or do you??). The things you do for your kids!! x
