sorry - can someone explain - again! how you manage to get the stockchecker to make a sound when you are away from the computer - Kids have an 'occasional' day and I have promised we would make some Christmas decco's (uh oh) perhaps I should get them making hammy beds! (though I don't think my 3 yr old would be very safe with the sewing bit!!) THANKS xx

Well, with mine, you just need to have the sound turned on on your pc, nothing more.

Was this a phone conversation or online? If online then keep all correspondence as this could be put forward to gambling commission to show that ebay are allowing this activity to go on knowingly :)

Unfortunately it was over the phone, they were more concerned about how i got that number to ring them on as my account wasnt priviledged enough to have access to that number but they would speak to me justthis once as a courtesy but if i ring back on that number they wouldn't.

Funny that cos the number is definately displayed on the cintact us page, so if im not priviledged enough why have it there for me to see it.

7 years i've had my ebay account - never once had a problem with them, but have now just heard 1st hand how discusting there customer servive is.

I bet the raffle people have priviledged satus - i bet she / he can ring them and gets great customer servive.

Unfortunately it was a phone conversation with two different people at the Gambling Comission earlier this year. I found this information on another site as it was a fairly straight forward explanation of what I was told by the Gambling Commission. We wanted to have a separate School fund raising raffle, but in the end kept it as part of the school fair so that we could just issue cloak room style raffle tickets. The rules are very specific.

That's disgraceful. I didn't realise how bad a lot of the retailers etc customer service was until I started the hamster hunt. I hope the gambling commission give ebay a right telling off  xxx

  • This thread is a lot quieter than last week does that mean that most people have had luck getting the hamsters and houses. I still want the ball but it might have to wait to the new year! I thought I had one from toys r us but doesnt look like it just pending funds in my paypal account.

It's definately a lot quieter but there doesn't seem to be much online stock at the moment :( I also thought I had a ball from tru but the verified by visa screen said declined at the last minute- although my bank say it was authorised so obviously a prob with TRU. I'm starting to think there will be no more chance of getting a ball online at rrp before xmas.

Am off to tesco (who have not had a single go go item in stock yet- other branches have but typically never my one!) to buy dd a treat as she has a poetry competition today and she has worked really hard on it (am so proud of her :T- she's not even 5 yet bless her). Can't wait to hear how she got on :D xxx

My DF just rang me from work and said - you know those pesky little hamsters we have, well i've just said my mate can have 2 for cost price, cos he's struggling to get any for his 2 little girls and i know you will be able to get more.

And he would like me err i mean you to get him anything else you can get your hands on. So i said he can gladly have hamsters but anything else he can join the queue cos im 1st, lol.

If only he'd have called 20 minutes ago, i'd have orderd him a house form argos.
