i've seen skateboards popping onto toys r us shelves now and again but so many people waiting for shop to open, it really is a scramble trying to get stock - i'm on the lookout for a ball, have been for about a month now and nothing. If i see any skateboards on my travels, I'll post here straightaway or pm me if u want me to pick one up and I can meet u central edin if u want.

I have to thank Maxi mouse for the help. I was trying to track down a funhouse and eventually phoned Hooray for toys at the weekend and asked if I could order over the phone. Managed to sort out a funhouse and surfboard/sleepdome. Seems like people have forgotten the dog and bone.

Had managed to get hamsters from Amazon and TRU and instore at Asda.

Now my hunt is on for rechargeable batteries as I can see the Christmas need if Hammy is left on continuously. They should really make a mains conected feeding dish or water bottle that the hamsters could charge up at automatically when running low on Juice.

On a side note, I do appreciate the craze and general hysteria, but feel that as much as ebayers are criticised for affecting supply/demand through over purchase, is it not just kind of the same thing if anyone is looking to purchase the whole set, or the majority of the set of hamsters and the accessories. They are also reducing the opportunity for others to get anything at all. As are those who make multiple orders and who also buy kit they, did not/had no, plan to buy at all.

I still reckon most of the shortage currently was caused/exacerbated by the press coverage a fortnight ago this wednesday, nothing like shouting FIRE!!!!! for an emotive response eh. Give it time and you will find there is not quite the shortage people think. NB: Character assured me last Wed that they had more stock and it would be posted on Thurs/Fri last week but then no show, mmmmmm. It was rumoured that Nintendo created the Wii shortage 2 years ago to create excess and unwarranted demand from even those not interested originally in purchasing. Simple psychology peoples, if its looks like golddust you'll think it is, want lots of it, beg borry steal to get it, even if it ain't. Thos that had no desire/need for it will also suddenly get caught up in the crowd and want it too. Prices rise or supply goes down or both.........and the vicious circle continues.

Good luck to all hunting, hope you all get what you want or deserve (kick up the aXXe for the ebayers/Play/Amazon Sellers mind).

The greed at this time of year makes me sick - people are making a mint out of parents who are desperate to fufill their kids xmas wishes - it really disgusts me and I would never pay those prices as it just encourages them.

Back just before bed time for a quick look. See some of you managed to get Hammies, congrats to all. I am still hoping my ebay hammie arrives, although given the email info from stebiz all could change.

You really need to take each one of these on a case by case basis. I mean how do you know that this guy, or somebody on ebay, hasn't just been made redundant and are trying to raise money for their families Christmas!! The truth is we don't.

Yep same here! especially wth ASDA they are really bad. The other day I thought i'd call before i headed there shopping to see if they would reserve if there were any there. I was told they haven't got any and wouldn't get any untill after crimbo.. Little and behold I went in and there was a shelf of wheels & slides. 1 other asda stores 'pretended' i assume to look on her computer and said they hadn't had stock since 2 weeks before yet I was in there a few days before and they had stock. For supermarkets it is defo best to just go in if you can rather then waste your time ringing...The ASDA stores around near me have always been putting stock out when i've gone in the morning about 9-10am but I guess they all work differently.
