  • Hi there,
Just thought I would let you know.
Today I reserved a house at my local toymaster store in coalville and have been unable to get it. If anyone is near then you can pm and i will give you the details so you can get it. As far as I know it is 19.99 not 24.99 like some of the other toymasters.
    good luck!
  • While this is still in stock, the so-and-sos have added another fiver to the price sharpish!

    Unreal £34.99 + delivery...

    bad as ebay prices.

Do they not realise that making a quick profit is going to affect their long term customer base and most possibly future sales?

  • Makro in Exeter have just taken all the stock down and have said they are now off sale!! Managed to argue it as had phoned before hand to make sure they had stock and then drove 30 miles, they let us get the skateboard with num nums included for £29.99.

They said that they'd be back on sale Wednesday although I'm thinking with a price hike as not sure why else they'd take them off sale?!

OMG :eek: - This is outrageous - I cannot believe they are doing this to parents - it is totally unfair. AT this rate it will be more beneficial (apart from the returns policy when they break) to get them off ebay!!!

I am glad they let you have yours.
Cost of this Hamster Hunt (inc postage):
    2 x Num Nums - £36.70, 1 x Chunk £13.50, 1 x Chunk £15.50, Slide £26.89, House £25.94, Car £14.99, Ball £9.99, Surfboard £9.99, Skateboard £9.99, Wheel £24.19 TOTAL:£187.68

A big thanks to you MSE'ers - especially Maximouse :A

Blimey that was big of them!
The rrp for the skateboard and hamster is 9.99 each isn't it?

I've never heard of Makro but will give them a wide berth in future if I ever do!

Just a quick thought hamster hunters. Everyone seems to be under the impression that after xmas these hammies and accessories are gonna be everywhere.

When demand far outstrips supply it can take months and months for a back log to clear so it may not be this simple.

I remember trying to buy a wii after xmas a few years ago and still found it nigh on impossible. Got 1 in MArch.

Saying that i live in a small out of the way town so maybe easier for others.

Anyone else thinking that there will be problems after xmas? (add on sets especially as all the kiddies getting hamster and funhouse will be keen to get the other items...

    thoughts?
My thought is the hamsters etc are so in demand now because all parents want to give it to them for xmas after xmas the demand will be a lot less, barely at all because on the whole if you get the fun house a couple of hamsters and maybe a carrier you can have a very happy kid, sure it is fab to get the add ons all the sets but the lady on ebay is making her own carriers and blankets and selling them, parents and kids are very adaptable and they can tell their kids that later on you can get so and so and add ons if the shops have them but it won't be important, the kids will love them, I personally do not have a ball but the rest my son is going to love and surely will just enjoy what he has got:D

    Hi all !

Thought it was time that I actually registered and posted rather than lurking in the background like a wee fly on the wall :o

This thread has been invaluable for so many with the ongoing hunt for stock.

I have 1 daughter and have been really fortunate to get her 2 hamsters and the house, so I'm chuffed as I'm sure she will be too when Santa comes. I will try and get some extras if I can but not going to panic about it (she says....bet I panic in 2 weeks !!!!! lol)

Anyhow, nice to meet you all, officially ;)
