How long do you like to go on holiday for?

  • We had 16 days in France this year touring in our camper van. No time to get bored....travelled 2,500 miles!!

Next year the plan is 3 weeks! OH planning to carry over 5 days of holiday from this year so can do this and have some other time off.

This is the last year we can...well I can do a longer holiday easily as finish Uni in June so shall go away before I start work.
  • Ilike to take 2 weeks off work. A week away then a week at home catching up on everything I never get round to.
When I went to Australia that was 3 weeks and (if I had enough money) I would have stayed there a lot longer. I suppose if it is an interesting holiday with loads to do I want to experience as much as possible.

  • I just finished a five month holiday through 8 countries :D
Could have kept going if I had the funds though, however I can only sit on a beach for two days before I get bored....

We generally have a week but approx 4 holidays per year:o

Are there any of you that have just the one holiday per year (2 weeks) and find that this is enough?

One holiday a year is definately not enough! Like you, we aim for 4 x 1 week holidays (or slight variations on that theme) through out the year. We also try to spread them out equally - December/March for ski trips & June/September for summer holidays so that you're never more than 3 months away from a holiday!

I agree with hieveryone. I find a week too short, but 2 weeks is too long. I lead a very happy life, and have a lot of very good friends and family who I miss badly if I'm away too long. I find holidays with small children great fun as they are experiencing new things which is so exciting to see, but at the same time they are not a rest, you still have all the same responsibilities as you do at home anyway. I miss my little house if I'm away too long, and I want my own bed! :D

    Not really, too expensive.

2 Adults, 1 Child, 1 Infant, All Inclusive to Majorca (end of May) in-term was £585 with meals & transfers. Some people had paid more for self-catering.

Run that again at half-term. Expect to pay £1600 onwards.

Though, i dont mind going half-term time, thats if you want to pay the difference. PM me the address i need to send copy of the booking too..

Frankly if you can't afford it you shouldn't be going. You would have been aware of this when having kids.

It's not my responsibilty to pay for your holiday. I can go when I want though, I don't have children.
