Well today I got a letter from the company, just letting me know my details have been passed on to the relevant area manager who should be in contact shortly, so I guess that buys them another week in which to contact me
Am just holding out for a day when I finish work early enough to phone up bank to set up direct debit.Forgot to take my cards with me to work, which is a good thing anyway! So couldnt pop over the road to Abbey to set up the DD!
Attempting to create some crispy shredded chilli beef tonight for the boyf, will let you know what happens!Wealth is not measured by currency0 -
Beef wasn't great, my batter was a bit too floury! If thats a word! Still vaguely edible!
Spent £22 sunday and £5 saturday, foolish I know. Went to Boots today to get some L'Oreal Perfect Slim, remembered to take card this time so essentially was free, saving self £6.99. May also take back item I bought today, its a fashion thing so don't really need it and have noticed some stitiching has come undone already! Shoddy workmanship!
Worked yesterday, so couldnt spend too much then, and had day off today but has been so HOT! Have washed boyf's car with bucket and sponge due to hose pipe ban.
Sold three pairs of shoes on ebay so need to post one pair so far, have to wait for cheque for the other.
Not very DFW this weekend I must admit, although will attack next week with re-newed vigor!
Another post later when boyf is not reading over shoulderWealth is not measured by currency0 -
Hey All,
Right feels like it's gonna be a long 'un!
Fell off the wagon as it were. Not with any big purchase but I think I'd got it into my head that I was going the right way and pleased with myself that I kept letting things slide.
Treated myself to £22 on clothing, love it but not really worth the money, but worn it now so stupid me!
Other than that I've just been taking money out of "the hole", thinking I was doing ok everything was paid etc. Just plain ol' stupid of me really.
Especially considering I managed to save money on food as mum paid. Haven't had take-away for a while with the boyf. It's just been on stupid things really.
A lot has been during breaks at work, I think my body is getting bored of the sandwiches, so I really need to motivate myself to getting something more tasty together for lunches now so I don't fall completely off the wagon and go back to £3+ a day!
Am also bit annoyed as after buying sofa and chairs on ebay, flatmate said her Dad would collect for us, and told me she had asked him, only to now find out he's had his van kitted out so it now won't fit in there! So may end up having to fork out to hire one!So annoyed about that.
But am going to list old on on ebay and hopefully that'll go so the money from that will be used against the ost of hiring out so I guess it swings in roundabouts!
Just need to give myself a thorough boot up the other end to get back to my ways.
Managed to sell some shoes on ebay so thats about £25 coming my way inc the postage charges,so thats something.
Am also debating listing some dvds that I have. I don't watch them as much as I could, box sets as well and it all helps!
Have managed to set up standing order to one of the CC, but it still needs this month minimum payment, am still trying to find out how since they dont take it over the phone or in branch.
Have paid other CC for the month but that one now needs a standing order/dd. I thought internet banking was supposed to make things easier! FAT CHANCE!
Although am little pleased with self as mobile bill came in today at £55, I know its still a lot but considering last months was £105, I should be starting to see some benefits of what Im doing!
Latest plan for this week is to tidy up bedroom, and try to organise some space so that I can move my computer from the living room up into my bedroom.
It sounds really mean but my solace is the internet and because Im living with a flatmate, she has cottoned on to using the net to talk to her friends thru messenger. Now thats not really a problem but she doesn't pay toward the phone line or broadband and I know if I wanted to save money I could ask her for money towards it, but I kinda like having it available to use when I want to, and I dont want to have to ask someone else to get off so I can get online etc and plus I do a lot of things online.
Maybe thats just selfish or maybe its a control thing......... but anyway!
Right enough half baked moaning! And back onto topic, must make money save money

Well if I wasn't having a bad week as it is, work appears to have hit the fan.
Had an interview with area manager yesterday to discuss an incident which took place at our store. It's not a serious offence in any way, but the long and short is I reduced some lines as we have horrendous amounts of them (following a conversation with my manager who told me to do it) because the area manager had told us we could because we were holding too much stock.
Now it appears the price I sold them at was below cost price (which I never knew as we dont have access to that information). So I admitted my part in it, saying I only did it because thats what I had been led to believe we (as a store) had been told to do. Now it looks like my manager is trying to lay the majority of it at my feet, because she wasn't in that day.
It's a communication thing really.Nobody agreed anything exact but the phrase do what you need to do to get rid of it was the main comment. Anyway it looks like it's now going to go forward to a discplinary. Area manager did say she thinks it'll either be verbal or written warning and its not a sackable offence but I'm still upset that it's all being labelled as my fault!
Plus this did happen about 4 weeks ago, for one day only, and when my manager was next in, I told her what I'd done and she didn't mention anything about it being wrong!:exclamati
So basically I'm just no happy today, sorry for the rant but it's just really stressing me out.Plus I still haven't heard anything from the other job I applied for so I'm just feeling really disheartened by everything at the moment. I don't think I'll lose my job but it's still not a nice feeling at all!
So thats the long and short of it. I just feel really pants now and I've had to email the person I won the furniture from on ebay to explain that the person who was going to drive me to get it has had a car accident so no van and no driver and I just can't find anyone else who can do it!So she's not very happy, understandably, and I don't know what else I can do.
I just really feel like crying my heart out! I know this hasn't got anything to do with being MSE  but this place is my solica and my support network so I'm really sorry peeps but I need some love..............Wealth is not measured by currency0 -
Massive amout of love from me, souds like you are in the horrible place. Fele for you.
2 things from me.
1. could you send a paypal payment for a quid or so to the ebay trader to keep her sweet. it might help you to feel a bit better about something which is nobodys fault, but I bet its making you feel bad.
2. If someone was going to pull me in for a discimplinary under those conditions, the very least you should have is a union rep. are you in a trade union?? This is SO unfair. and I would be taking this right to the top!!!:beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
Hasn't gone to discplinary yet, yesterday was an investigation. I answered everything honestly and truthfully and I could easily have lied and blamed other people, but she told me a lot of what my manager has said which makes me angry because she's trying to lay it on me, whihc I guess is just a protective response, trying to save her own bacon, and I dont think she's doing it maliciously. But then I'm also not sure how much I can trust area manger or store manager! So might just keep everything else to myself.
The whole thing has been a farce. They're suppose to give notice of an investigation interview which we never had, and we were told we could have someone with us, but since no notice, no time to arrange someone else to be there!Am also not in trade union as its retail. Am tempted to go higher but I just feel like I'm bottom of a chain of events that led to what happened so ultimately I'll get the can!
In terms of ebay, I feel so rotten, she's held the item for me till I had a day off and now I can't take it, she was quite blunt in her email after being so nice previously. And is now saying I havent contacted her for ages. Last contact was to arrange date so I tried to let her know as soon as. I even said if she wanted to re-list it and she didn't get as much this time round I would send her some of the difference, or all depending on what the difference was so that she didnt lose out on the money aspect, but all she said was the second chance thing isn't working, but I dont know what else I'm meant to do since I cant collect it!
OOOOOOOOOOOh it's just all falling apart right nowWealth is not measured by currency0 -
_pale_ yikes, what a load of t****rs you work for:eek:
Chin up, am sure you will get better job soon. xA positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

Still feeling pretty low today, have spent about £8 on some foodie bits and also on expanding box file to try and get my paperwork a bit more organised.
Paid in cheque from ebay for pair of shoes i sold. Posting them out tomorrow as well as another pair, so hopefully wont cost me too much. Should be getting back £50 that I lent to boyfriend last weekend as he has now been paid, was going to be spent on the ebay sofa but since that all hit the wall!
Also swapped home insurance over to barclays as they beat ur quote or give you £50 and lower their price, so now have lower insurance and £50 winging its way to me in the next few weeks. Also made sure he told me their price before i mentionned what mine was, as didnt want him to say give me a quote based on that.
Was worried that he'd bump up the pricing so that all they had to give me was say £51, whereas without doing the deal the insurance would've been say £100 cheaper. So kept cards close to chest on that one,but saved £55 on insurance and then get £50 cash. So small victory there.
Finished early from work today, wanted to do a few more bits but ended up still staying later.Off to hoover up now, maybe another post later on......Wealth is not measured by currency0 -
Hiya, you can join a trade union. The shop workers union is USDAW.Union of shop, distributive and allied workers.
Check out their website on https://www.usdaw.org.uk loads of info on there, including how to join. If you need specific advice I am a union rep, and will try and help out all I can, just PM me.0
