CAFCGirl.....I also had a stick blender sitting in the cupboard for AGES (I also bought it with the intention of whizzing up fruit!!) however since I have got into making HM soup, it is used weekly. I LOVE it and it is one of the best loved utensils in the kitchen now.
Why don't you set yourself a target of making a really simple soup or some sort of smoothie (what's the worst that can happen eh?) this week and see how you get on. You may find you really enjoy the outcome and then you'll use it a lot more.
I found some soup recipes on the old style board (my fave is apple & broccoli....sounds odd but tasts gorgeous) and I found a really simple spicy red lentil soup recipe on the back on a Kallo stock cube box the other day. I can give you one of those recipes if you are interested....Bank Balance: In the black for the moment.

I'll be completely honest here, it's just because essentially I'm lazy! LOL
I have good intentions but after being at work all day I just want to veg. I'm running on empty with a nasty cold at the mo as well so feel blessed just to have got through the day!
I'm just waiting for my bank account o equal itself out with DDebits etc so that I can actually see how much money I've got and then I might try and plan some new meal ideas into it.
My only fear is buying the ingrediets whizzing it up, and then it being awful! I'm not good at living through the things that aren't too great, me being wasteful again I know!Wealth is not measured by currency0 -
Hi All,
Quick update from me.
Two no spends on the trot now. Got some ebay items listed, about 6 now, two of them finish in a couple of hours, so hopefully that'll be a little something.
Got sent home from work due to this horrible cold and I've had a sleep for a couple of hours, so feel a little bit better.
Went into Tesco's on the way home for some fish food, as it was only place on my way home, £3.55 for fish food!!!!!!!!!!!
They can wait until tommorrow to be fed!
Am starting to line up things to do on my day off which is thursday. Wanted to find my insurance documents for household insurance and go into barclays as Ive heard they'll beat it, or drop their price and give you £50? So might look into that.
Am also going into Abbey to set up direct debits to both credit cards, as well as get all my other direct debits change onto the first of the month. That way they'll all come in close enough to my pay day and then I know that whats left is definitely mine!
Will also take a list of other things i want to go through with them , i.e the DREADED PPI!!!!Wealth is not measured by currency0 -

You don't have a cold my dear.....this is hay fever time.......are you taking your antihistime's? You can buy OTC or get them on prescription. Once they kick in you will feel so much better!
Good Luck, and remember if you are going to buy OTC.....talk to the pharmicist, if your are in Boots get Boots own brand, etc.....very moneysaving!Today, my BEST is good enough.0 -
oh no it's definitely a cold! Theres a bug going around where I live, and my manager had it so I've just caught it from her, I dont suffer from hayfever thankfully.
I've had a nap this afternoon and I do feel better for it, but it's been lying in wait for a few weeks now and its just come to the surface lolWealth is not measured by currency0 -
Well feeling much better today (thankfully!)
Quick update spent £8.94 in Boots, didnt realise I had enough on Boots card to have paid for this, so bit annoyed with self! And £1.99 in wilkinson on fish food so that should last quite a while.
Mum's coming to visit tomorrow and has offered to take me to get some food, so hopefully that translates to "I worry about my youngest so I'll pay just so I know she's eating properly".
Also want to get to the bank so I can set up direct debits and change the dates of the others.
Other than that, spending my evening browsing MSE and doing household chores, will have to go and find something to cook for dinner at some point too.
Store cupboard challenge has been going really well.Made myself chinese fried rice which was lovely, so thats one to add to the list. Not too sure about tonights yet though..........Wealth is not measured by currency0 -
Hey All,
Feeling much better today!Cold seems to be vacating my body so thats a god send.
Spent money today on body scrub, face wipes and a few gardening bits. My mum came to visit today and had bought me some pots for flowers for outside our front door, we've got essentially a forecourt in front of our door which is about 8ft x8ft, and its got parking bollards in the middle as it's the parking space for the shop under where we live. So essentially we have no garden space.
Got some nice planters which fit against drainpipes, so have four of those and a little pot group on the floor, one of which is a litle pot herb garden which smells lovely. So had a nice time planting that up.
Mum also took me to Asda and paid for my food shopping for me, got a lot of fruit and veg, lots of tinned goods, some drinks and plenty of staples. And lots of meat for the freezer. So am really grateful that she did that for me, the blessing of only being 22 and your mum's youngest girl I guess!
Also managed to pay off £30 to Abbey cc.Went into Halifax to pay off £30 on I.F cc, only to be told they cant take the payment there! Bit shocking as I.F is part of Halifax? Any explanation on that one????
Didn't make it into bank to set up direct debit, but am gonna try and get 15mins out of work to go do that tomorrow.
Budget for the week has gone pear shaped, not including cc payments, I've spent about £20, not happy, was trying for £10 but havne't really spent money on clothes, make up etc. It's been food and longer lasting items. A bit of an excuse I know but could have been a lot LOT worse!Wealth is not measured by currency0 -
Hello U, glad you are feeling better. God Bless your mum, too buying you lots of goodies.
I think(?) IF is an Internet Bank, and that's why you could not pay your cc off in Halifax.
Why don't you sign on to your own bank for the Internet Banking, that way you could set up your DD's etc online, save you running around all of the banks to pay your accounts.
I am still keeping an eye your your thread, and am pleased you are doing so well.
Any news yet on the new job??????????Today, my BEST is good enough.0
