Can anyone else let me know if they have problems funding the reward account from an existing currrent account until the agreement is signed?

I don't understand why my daughter can apply online and be asked instantly which other account she would like to fund it with and she can transfer money in instantly all done in 2 minutes but for me they will not allow it until the agreement is signed. This happens with all my accounts before its fully set up current accounts or savings and the online wont fund it either

If I apply online too it also will not let me fund it during application I have to wait until the agreement is signed
    Thanx

Sorry Lady_K - no idea why, I did 2 of mine last week online no probs and funded with my main Current Account then phoned up yesterday and changed my main Current Account to the 3rd Reward Account. Not had to sign anything at all (except the cards when they appear...)

Do you all set up SO's to move it all around and just sit back and leave it or do you transfer online every month ?
I've set up standing orders to go from Lloyds to Halifax 1 then a week later back to Lloyds then a week later to Halifax 2.
Should I be more hands on with this and do it all by faster payments?
Bit concerned as faster payments still sound a bit hit and miss !

I would say that it is because, for whatever reason, their system cannot fully verify your identity.
It of course should be ok as you are an existing account holder and they must by now have your signature on record.
Don't know what to suggest other than speaking with them again.

I have been with them for over twenty years and have lots of accounts with them of various types its crazy I even have my mortgage with them.

My granddaughter has got to go in either tomorrow or Thursday to take in my ID and a utility bill plus a cheque from my other Halifax account to fund it, they wont take cash as they said it has to be from me how absolutely barmy.

The other reward account that I opened last week that I eventually got someone to fund for me on the online bankingapparently should not have been done and the lady overroad a block to do it.

I asked them why my daughter has opened a number of accounts online and by phone and can fund them straight away and so can many other people but they say its not possible even though I watched my daughter do it and its on thier online application as an option. I seriously am beginning to wonder if its worth staying with them I'm just so fed up with all this stupidness
    Thanx

Very strange Lady_K especially with funding with a cheque - why do they care where the money comes from? I can understand withdrawing money but paying in can be done by anyone nowadays so I really don't understand that!

I have my mortgage with Halifax but only for a couple of years, I've been with Bank of Scotland for about 25 years as well but I haven't had any of the troubles you've had!

I hope you manage to get it all sorted though Lady_K as time is running out!! :(

Yep, we've got 6 PINs, two cards.

To be honest, who needs three cards when you can move the money and withdraw from the main account? But, having said that, why would they send the PINs if there's no card?

Not bothered, as I shan't use any of the cards anyway.
