  • If that is the red bottle and 47kg, £26 is much lower than most people will be paying. the last time I checked, they were above £40.

So, maybe you could post the area of the country you are in and the supplier, to help others.

Wow - I asked about the cost of a 47kg cylinder yesterday and was quoted over £80 for one!

Mind you, I don't use it for heating, only for the cooker hob and the last bottle has lasted us over 2 years!
  • How long do people find a 47kg bottle lasts for when using central heating? Could you tell me rough house size just to get an idea as that will alter it somewhat!
    Thanks!

  • Hello Squelch,

    I live in a 3 bed 1940's semi.
My system has 4 x 47kg bottles and uses 2 at a time.

During winter, 2 bottles last me 5 weeks using it from 0630 to 0930 and 1630 to 22.00 plus hot water as required.

2 bottles cost me about £76 for the pair.

    Regards

Just seen the bill from Flogas for our latest order of 2 47kg LPG cylinders and discovered they've put up the price by over 6% since our last order in September.
I'm pretty peeved at this since prices for mains gas have been falling not rising this year. I've seen stuff before suggesting that Flogas never put prices down, but couldn't believe they'd have the cheek to put them up.

I did a ring around when we moved in 18 months ago, and Flogas came out cheaper than Calor or Countrywide, but it seems like it's time to do another.
Anyone care to share any tips on who might be cheaper, or how much they're paying?
I'm in Oxfordshire by the way, and the cost for 2 cylinders is now £102.44 incl. VAT.
  • best i can get is 45 each from countrywide farmers, live in west hants

I use the 47 kg size for my cooker and had to buy one last week - £53.75 in East Sussex.

I just bought two bottles (47kg - Calor) for £48 each in Porthmadog, North Wales
I took two empties back, which hopefully makes a difference!
  • CPL - Coals2U are selling Calor 47kgs for £46 inc delivery!
