Its not perfect and there are things to improve - so why not work towards that instead of bashing it all the time?

Perma - pessimists are'nt rational. I think of some of them as 'dailymailers', as thier thinking is akin to the knee jerk, inconsistent headlines one gets in the Mail. For example one week the dailymailers cry it's a disgrace another child is let down by social services and the very next week they are outraged by social services heavy handed approach (taking children away for example).

You simply cannot have any kind of rational evidence based discussion with such a mindset.

One of these came into my offices yesterday, a retired lady. She was banging on about Brown wanting to steal all her money and make her pay stamp duty after the December duty deadline. In the very next breath she was bemoaning the local TAX PAYER FUNDED facilities and did'nt make the giant leap from people like her's reluctance to pay in and the resulting outputs.

Complete and utter idiotic selfish dailymailism.

EDIT - she is worth about £3m

A classic today. According to them "Nearly a million jobs in private industry and commerce have been lost in just 15 months, the latest unemployment figures showed yesterday.

But the full impact of the recession has been shrugged off in the public sector, which has seen a boom of over 300,000 in recruitment of bureaucrats."

However, in that period the entire staff of Lloyds Banking Group and RBS Group have been transferred to the public sector. They make up 230k workers. No mention of this is made by the morons at the Wail, who instead rant on about public sector pay and quote Teresa May wanting a freeze on public sector recruitment.

The people at the Wail aren't cretins. they post disinformation like this on purpose. And that purpose is displayed in the harrumphing comments section for the article - they pander to the prejudices of their readers.

I didn't realise that the banks had been nationalised. ;)

Must read the Morning Star in future.

What Hamish fails to mention is that one in six households in Scotland has no adult in employment.
