    Time the bickering stops
Ryanair suit a lot of people a lot of the time..BA suit some of the people some of the time;)
I along with my friend fly mostly with ryanair, have 1 hold luggage between us.
  • The last time I tried to fly with BA he kept yelling "You crazy fool! I ain't gettin' on no plane!" so I didn't bother.

2 adults, 2 children, 2 infants travelling to Berlin on 18th October

    BA : £590 plus £4.50 CC fee

Ryanair : £653.04 plus £200 baggage plus £20 CC fee

    Who will you fly with?

Are BA not on strike that day? ;)

I worked away from home last year for roughly the whole year, used ryanair twice a week, so roughly 100 flights. Out of the 100 flights, 1 was cancelled and about 3 were 1 hourish late. I never paid more than £10 per flight, in fact most were free/1p. I did book early and when the offers were on, have hand luggage only and a visa electron card.
Yes the seats aren't great, nor is the customer service, but you certainly get more than you paid for.

In that scenario the obvious answer is BA. I returned from Berlin today. Total cost of trip was 2p. It was booked last month. Beat that!! The flight in both directions was on time.

If you do the research and book in advance Ryanair wins hands down all the time. If you leave it until the last minute, of course their fares are going to be more expensive. That is how they make money. It's common sense. That is why they are growing while BA is cutting back and laying off staff. Other so called ' full service' airlines are starting to charge extras for check-in baggage, etc.
