That's got to be the shortest offer ever. I don't suppose the AA one will be there much longer.
And gone. Must have got the last one

I think this may be gone now.........I just tried to open an account and it all went through OK until the final submit button, then it came up saying there was a problem, so I don't know whether it worked or not
. When I tried again, it said the bond is no longer available............

Blimey! You have to move so quickly nowadays! Just got Martin's email, and account already removed!
Perhaps I should just glue myself to my laptop and only move to go to the loo.0 -
There's no major difference unless you're actually getting the interest paid to a separate account.AirCooledHeaven wrote: »Given that the annual interest and monthly interest accounts both have the same % AER, on what basis should one decide between them
However from a tax point of view there are a couple of reasons why you might prefer one rather than the other:
I'm a 20% tax payer and hoping to be in the 40% category in a couple of years time (in the nicest way possible - not because the tax bands move!). If I were applying for an account lasting more than 1 year I would go for monthly interest, so as many interest receipts as possible are still taxed in years when I'm only taxed at 20%.
Also if you thought tax rates were going to go up generally (which will certainly be the case if you're in the new 50% band and could affect everyone if the 20% rate went up, say) you might prefer to get the interest ASAP before the changes happen.0 -
Just spoke to someone at AA and their bond has definitey been withdrawn now...and there was me trying to be superfast!0

i was lucky enough to get one of the accounts through B&M....
i'm also currently in the process of setting up an ISA (3.6% easy access)
Shall i stall on placing my money (full isa allowance) in this, and place it all in the 5 year fixed bond?0 -
I went through the full application process for the AA account online, only to be told at the end that I needed to phone to check if my details had been accepted.
When I phoned I was told that although they now had my contact details, the account had been closed to new applicants BUT they couldn't delete all of my contact details from their systems, where they will remain there for another 13 months.
What a disgraceful way to do business...they have my address, phone and e-mail details and I have nothing in return (other than having to pay for the call to them of course).0 -
can you deposit money whenever you want? or is it only the first deposit you make?0
