  • Thanks, i will try that
  • Hi theonlywayisup -

got a revised quote for £35, thank you!
  • any suggestions please, for a 7kg parcel to go the USA? Cheapest quote I can find is £45. It started out as a quote for £30 (reasonable, I thought) - but, one step before payment, it decided that the address in Minnesota (which I have send parcels to before) has suddenly become "a remote address" and they wanted another £15. Bah and tish!

    thanks for help

  • Hi i have just sold a lcd 40 inch tv and the seller wants me to send its uk to uk any ideas of a company to use to send? how do i know how much it weighs? also how would i go about packing a telly without its box?
  • i have been doing some research and the telly with stand is 16kg at the moment i am looking at parcel force with 15% off and top cash back should be reasonable, have looked for tv boxes and they are a lot at around £12 thinking i should of looked in to this before offering to deliver.

If any one has any ideas how to cut costs on this i would be grateful i always try and reuse packaging when i send things so to pay over £10 for a box will hurt me, i guess i could ask on free cycle . I have it priced at about £35 now to deliver inc box.

Any advice I give on these forums is my own opinion only, and is what I would do in your situation or, what I have done in the past, please do not slate me for offering what I see as "sound" advice.
    Thanks

No it wont after they have delivered it somewhere, the insurance wont go on if you ship it else where ,neither parcel money or city link insure glass,

John Lewis won't cover you if it gets damaged in transit.

The chances of it getting damaged are very high - thats why no one covers them for damage in transit.

You need to get a proper box for your particular make of set and even then the chances of damage are high and you will be left out of pocket if something goes wrong.

If it was me I wouldn't do it.
