I seem to remember sometime last year hearing that FPs would be rolled out by the banks on a steadily increasing basis. I think it was in an interview on the BBC lunchtime business programme when they were doing a feature on this (then new) subject.

I think they said that initially only a small proportion of transactions would go by FP but over a period of time that proportion would increase until they all were FPs.

My memory may be failing me on this but the explanation would fit in with the above experiences. I don't think there was any explanation as to which type of payments got the fast priority.

It was accepting £1,000 FPs yesterday (at least, it got to the FP "We will confirm your payment once it has been processed" message before I cancelled).
    Seems very arbitrary though.
I have everything upto £1000 going sameday FP + multiple transactions upto £10K per day, from 1 vantage account, and my classic gold (joint) and other vantage accounts can only do the £500 next day FP.

Why is it so beyond them to communicate with their customers and tell us what's going on -or even tell their call centre; they are certainly not backward at coming forward with all their marketing rubbish!

i tried again twice today getting £500 fp'd in one transaction as the origional one before 9 didnt go through, thought i would try after at 10 to see if that made a difference, and was schedualled again for tomorrow, cancelled that payment and tried again at 1pm, same again, so cancelled.

just tried sending £250 via fp and that has gone through fine, so have done the other £250 straight after and that too has gone fine

so god knows why they let me do 2X£250 rather than 1X£500 when they let me do a £500 one via fp the otherday! (not changed payee details etc as all to same account, using existing payee)

No amount is working for me this afternoon, even tried £1. That's bizarre because I sent off £80 only this morning to a newly set up payee by FP.

Maybe everyone's heard and is trying it and it's been inundated?

.... but it works now, allowing up to £1,000 (even though that would have caused me to use my overdraft!).

I had the best result yet on Monday, I was trying to move £700 back to Natwest and it was trying to send it as a FP, getting as far as the timer but then stating that the payment couldnt be made and to try again later. I tried a couple of times and once on another of my Vantage accounts but no joy, I then checked my Natwest account and £2100 had found its way over - I was so glad that it was another one of my accounts rather than a payment being made to someone else.

    Not impressed.

I had similar problems on Monday while trying to send money to a Halifax account and a First Direct account - an error message saying the payment couldn't be made and that if the problem persisted I should contact LTSB. But then it would show on the statement page for LTSB that the payment had been sent - and as I was checking the Halifax and FD accounts in another browser tab, I could see that the payments were indeed going through and being received.

just a warning, be careful this am using lloyds fp, as i tried to send £100 said that it failed and to try again, which i did, same again and finally tried a 3rd time, however despite lloyds saying it failed all 3 £100's went into my tesco acccount so have tranferred £200 back.
