I had an e-mail back from them just before lunch to say that they are still waiting for clarification from Ford as to whether parents with only 1 child can go but that my place is being held in the meantime.

I hope they see sense. I have pointed out how stupid it is to not allow winners to take one person less than the prize provided for. I have also told them that the T&C are quite misleading as it states that the prize is for up to four people and that 2 of them must be children. I took this to mean that if you only had one child then you could still go but that you couldn't make the 4th place up with a 3rd adult.

They have said that they will get back to me as soon as they hear from Ford but I agree with Triney23 - I am also losing my excitement over even winning the prize.

    Keep fighting for your prizes!

I agree. I didn't enter this as my children are 12 and 16. There is always an outcry when adults enter comps meant for under 16's and it's obvious that some people on here have entered when they don't have 2 children under 12 that they can take, to me this isn't massively different (I do sympathise with the families of 5 or more though, I would have also assumed they would be able pay to take the extra child/children)

Many congratulations to all winners who do meet the T&C's and hope the larger families get something sorted. Sorry if this post offends

    exactly
i really can't see the fuss and i'm dismayed of some reaction
this is a family holiday on the basis of it aimed at and for children.
why not do the good thing and offer the extra place to another child who it will be a dream come true
  • well done to all the winners, but i too read it as 2 children therefore i didn't even enter as only have 1

I'm not sure where you have seen anyone posting that they have entered this competition and they don't have children?

We are all families who have entered and who have won. We are just saying that it doesn't seem fair that you can only collect your prize if you are Ford's definition of the right sized family with 2 children instead of 1 or 3.

I really don't get what you don't understand here
having a dig at a promoter because you don't understand the t+cs to me isn't right
i myself have won a holiday for two but due to the generosity of the promoters they allowed our children to go to
not because i kicked up a fuss because i was very grateful for the prize

There always has to be one or two people on here giving their "Victor Meldrew" opinions where they are really not wanted.

I won't be reading this thread again as I (unlike some) don't come on here to argue.

I will PM those directly who I have been in contact with about this one to let you know how I get on.

who's arguing obviously you are ungrateful for the prize and it's t and c's
i have a lot of respect for promoters and take every prize gracefully

I have to say that as a winner from last year's promotion, Ford did a spectacular job of organizing and running this promotion. They are extremely generous in allocating so many places and providing all the extras too. I'm sure Ford will come through for you all that are having difficulties at the moment. We couldn't even begin to imagine how much last year's event must of cost them. The space party in the evening is amazing. To have exclusive access to part of the park and rides at night made such a difference. All the characters were out that night for photo opportunities. Don't waste your time in the day queuing up to have pics taken with them as you will have plenty of time with them on the Saturday night. It really is a money can't buy prize. We were so appreciative of everything Ford did for us we sought them out at the park (they were the ones wearing bright orange jackets) to tell them how much we were enjoying ourselves and having such a good time.
For everyone that is going, enjoy yourself and please if you can take your time to thank the promoters. It really makes a difference and keeps them wanting to run future promotions like this.
Good luck in sorting things out and have fun:D
