I tried to post on your diary before, but it wouldn't let me for some reason, so I'll put it here instead. If you check out frugaldom's blog, she did some research into the adword, adsense thing. I think it was Feb or March this year.

Singing club was good, especially as its not a choir, so its not terribly serious. Only problem is that the sessions that are near me, are on Wednesdays so not easy to get to.

Today is Friday, but its the 13th, so not too happy about that! The latent superstitious me pops out again.

Not sure what today will bring, have a few hours in Cheshire, but after this I will finish the work I need to do for them by working from home, as its documentation stuff. So will probably go out for lunch.

Have been having terrible trouble getting on to this site the last day or two. Even just getting to the forum page, it kept telling me that the page didn't exist! When I tried to post on KC's thread this morning, and DT last night, it told me I didn't have permission.

Market day today, so had a wander, picked up fruit and veg; I do need to do something a bit more useful with these 2 days I now have, but at the moment feel like I need the break.

Spends so far - under a fiver. Grocery shop coming tomorrow, as I keep forgetting it can come during the day now. That would save a couple of quid.

Off to see if I can get on any other threads.

You managed to post on mine, I'm glad to say. I wonder if anybody else has had any trouble?

Don't blame you for not immediately filling up the days with stuff-to-do: we need down time too. I find nowadays that if I don't schedule it in, I end up wasting time - i.e., not nice stuff like a walk, or a visit, but computer games, which are very bleak in comparison, even tho they have their place sometimes.

    Enjoy the pottering!

    Morning,

THE KITCHEN!!! I was sooo angry with DS yesterday. I got back from Shropshire late. DS had mentioned during the day that he was doing tidying; don't know where he tidied but it sure wasn't the kitchen, which looked like a bomb had gone off. Plates in the sink, crumbs on worktops, empty multipack wrappers just left on worktop; food not put back in fridge.
I calmed down eventually, but its not what you want to come home to.

    Back to tidying.

oh i sooo feel your pain there ... son kept an eye on the house for us while we were away those three weeks .... i had to not look at it till today and hubby has been sneak cleaning all week while ive been sleeping ... kids eh .... just not as tasty when they grow up as they are when they are young

you got on mine too ,.... thanks

    Hi Gill

Hope you manage to get another contract soon. Is the Shropshire one continuing long term now or what is happening?

I have been where I am for a year now and I feel like I am now truely settled in and was even putting myself forward for training this week.... Feels very weird after 5 years or so of short term contracts.

I can relate re your DS... I am paying my DS to clean but I am still spending hours cleaning what he hasn't done so we are building up to an argument as he seems to have taken the money without doing the work! He's a good kid tho - and I want to give him the money as I agree with what he's spending it on but even so.... He needs to do the work and put the effort in It's partly my fault tho as I haven't given him a list of what needs doing... He's supposed to remember

    Hi SH
the Shropshire one is 'probably' going to continue for a while, but they only get budget approval for 2 months at a time, so difficult to plan ahead.
I'll have been in Cheshire a year, the contract was originally for 3 months. They are still sorting out posts from the restructure, lots of bad feeling as some posts didn't make the grade etc. The job I am covering for, which at one point I was going to apply for, was re-assessed too, so wouldn't be worth applying for.
The weather is absolutely awful this morning, blowing a gale, rain lashing the windows; doors are banging everywhere in the house, it doesn't make you want to do anything.

Added to that, at the beginning of July I am going away with my sister, and she is slim, so I have 6 weeks to lose some weight and at least look and feel a bit better.

I have a bit of a plan, only a bit mind, nothing extraordinary.

I was talking to someone yesterday about contract jobs etc. and someone we used to work with who was useless as a Project Manager, and we all started to point out the things this guy did wrong. I realised that I not only have those skills, but more importantly have the qualification to back them up. PM's in my field generally don't work full time on one project, but good ones flit between a few, which would suit me better.

BUT, my certificate has expired, so I need to find out whether that matters, or in fact whether that only gives you access to resources and its the fact that you've done the training that matters. I can do refresher courses on line, its the exam thats expensive.

    So some research required.

Also, I was reading a few threads on here last night, and I feel there is a little negative voice inside me, so will adopt FW's 'I am worth it' approach. I need to make more of an effort with my physical appearance, as it's difficult enough being top heavy, but now my waist is disappearing too, its only my age that stops me looking pregnant.

If the weather brightens up I'll go out for a walk later. Clear my head a bit.

    In the meantime, more de-cluttering.

Thats a good plan, a *very* good plan. We *so* have to watch for those negative voices, don't we - Gok particularly interested me this morning, it was a 52 year old whose confidence had disappeared when she got made redundant 3 years ago. She still had a really bright holiday wardrobe, but nothing casual in this country, and nothing business-y either - he worked on both, and it was great. My wardrobe upgrade is still going on, just bought another £4 skirt - and honestly, with the quality of what I'm seeing in the charity shops, I'm tempted to chuck out nearly *all* the old stuff that I have. The Stargate SG1 T shirt will have to stay for sentimental reasons :o but the rest is lurching to the exit.

Fancy doing an audit of what you have? I just thought of that sentence 3 seconds before I typed it. I'm off out tomorrow, but don't have anything I *fancy* doing today (not even a clothes audit, if truth be told). Sigh .... perhaps another cup of coffee...

I suspect that I'm not wearing stuff that suits my shape, so its not helping my confidence much. May need to watch a bit more Gok.
