Anyone got an Aqualisa Digital shower?

If you look at the brochure here there appears to be a setting to adjust for whether it's high pressure, combi or gravity plus eco settings. If it exists (not mentioned in the installation instructions below) on this version of the processor i would check it's been set right. This sounds more like a problem with your boiler not being able to provide adequate flow to me.
Does the boiler meet the requirements in the installation manual here:Special notes for combination boiler systems
The appliance must have a minimum domestic hot water rating of 24kW (80,000BTU) and be of the type fitted with a fully modulating gas valve.
If in any doubt, please contact the appliance manufacturer before installation commences.
PLEASE NOTE: DUE TO PERFORMANCE CHARACTERISTICS OF COMBINATION BOILERS, THE SHOWER FLOW RATE MAY VARY
WITH CHANGES TO THE MAIN INLET TEMPERATURE. INLET TEMPERATURE CHANGE MAY ALSO CAUSE THE DIGITAL
CONTROLLER TO FLASH. THIS IS NOT NECESSARILY CHANGING THE OUTLET TEMPERATURE.
No experience of these showers but from what you say the noise may be being amplified through whatever the processor is attached to so the rubber matt, or similar may help build a cushion against the noise. Check the installation instructions have all been followed correctly and it's the right orientation etc too.0 -
another idea...check your boiler. I've just looked in the manual for it (realised you posted model number after i'd posted!) and it has an Eco button which affects how the boiler responds when you turn a tap on ...turn it off by holding down the Eco button until the Eco light goes out. If the Eco function is on it will take the boiler longer to generate hot water so perhaps might not work as well with your new shower.0

Thanks andy. I've just been up the loft to check and the setting was at 'normal HP' so I've switched it to 'combi' to see if it makes any difference.
(The boiler Eco setting was already switched off.)Herman - MP for all!0 -
That sounds hopeful! May well make a difference in maintaining a more steady temperature as i'm sure they wouldn't just add the setting on the dial for no reason! I'm doubtful about it solving the noise but you'll have to test and see!
Still surely the setting should have been mentioned in the install manual ..or did i blink?0 -
I hadn't looked at the installation manual previous to this as I trusted the plumber and electrician to do the necessary and didn't think I needed to do anything. :undecidedHerman - MP for all!0

Just a quick update in case anyone else ever has similar concerns.......the shower switched off this morning all by itself and refused to work again.
Cue another call to Aqualisa who said it needed reset, which did indeed make it work again.
No ideas as to what would have caused it to need reset in the first place mind.
I'm now told that the information I was given originally about unscrewing the hose and trying to get rid of the possible airblock.....was rubbish and I shouldn't have been told that at all. As to which setting it should be on, it's a bit of a grey area and either combi or normal HP can be selected. The normal HP setting might even increase the flow rate a little so I've switched it back to that. I need to wait and see if it settles down and if it doesn't, I need to call back.
I now officially dislike this shower intensely and wish I'd never bought it. I'm pretty gutted I've spent so much money on something I'm so unhappy with and there's nothing I can do about it.Herman - MP for all!0 -
I have one of these showers it is brilliant, no problems at all no noise from it I think how it was fitted has a lot to do with the running of showers etc0

Well mine is definitely erratic and that's nothing to do with the fitting. Anyway my new plumber is very good so I have no concerns in that department.
Mine has started coming on full boost sometimes as soon as it starts. No rhyme nor reason for when it does it. Also the boost button did nothing until around a week ago when it suddenly started to work. Just as well it has a decent guarantee, I think I may need to make use of it. It may well be a good shower normally but I think my particular one is dodgy.Herman - MP for all!0 -

Good afternoon: if I recall correctly from one of your other threads, you mentioned your incoming mains pressure is 6.5 bar i.e very high. The OH fit the same Aqualisa at his mum's but has a shock arrestor on the cold supply( some properties require a.PRV as well) Although Aqualisa specifies a maximum 7 bar static pressure for your model, mains pressure will fluctuate throughout the day...more info on page 4.
If you're happy with your new plumber and confident that he hasn't made an installation error call Aqualisa for a warranty call.
Mira's new Platinum is an alternative to the Quartz...(the OH is fitting his first later this month...very snazzy looking mixer/shower head).
