Best way for lovers to talk....

My son has come to the end of his contract with 3, and is in need of a really cheap way of talking or texting his girlfriend.
He has a £10 per month to spend.
His girlfriend is on the o2 network
He currently has a SE phone, limked to 3 network
Does anyone have any knowledge/advice on the best way forward and the best PAYG/Contract for him.
My initial impression is for him to join O2 and get a PAYG sim, but that means that his SE requires unlocking, can that be done easily?
Thanks guys and gals

I realise this would require both to change but have a look at Vodafone family,I use it and for £5 a month on one phone they could have unlimited calls any time of day each way but you do need to hang up and redial just before 60 minutes.Mike0

Might sound horrible but how serious is it, theres no send shuffling all your phones around for them to split up next week..0

ha ha, old fashioned talking eh jamespir:T
well they are doing GCSE's at the moment and live 7 miles apart so better to have a talk after revision  than be with each other for hours and the romantic dinners can be after the exams.
I understand your sentiment though:A0 -

Thanks for the advice, i will look at the site but was keen to get away from 3 as I have been so dissapointed with their service and customer (no) care.
We had 3 contracts with them and are gradually getting away from them, it seems that we are 3 of many that are doing the same at the moment.0 -
As mentioned above, purchase 2 PAYG 3 phones and use skype on them. No top up or monthly charges. You just pay for the phone and thats it.
Yes the Customer Services is bad, but you're not paying for anything except the phone. Its a win win.0 -

Three is not the best when it comes to customer service, but their PAYG package is quite good for your need.
If you don't want to talk from Skype, just top up £10 every 3 months and it will entitle you to unlimited 3-to-3 call / 600texts. In other words, prefect solution for two persons which talk a lot, and you only need a 3G phone + £10 top up every 3 months.0 -
May sound silly, but do check they both have a 3 signal before taking up on the above idea.Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.
There are two ways of constructing a software design: One way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies, and the other way is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies0
