One of my best holidays was one I won when I worked for Virgin-4 days in Barcelona drinking cava and seeing the sites.Empty pockets never held anyone back, only empty heads and empty hearts can do that -Peale0

Linda, I have been to Bali, Florida mm all over the world basically.... I would give my right arm to have a week in a caravan in Cornwall, without some incident or disaster befalling me....every exotic location we have been on has been 'memorable' for some stupid event.
My favourite holidays where those as a child, caravan in morecambe with seagulls on the roof....and it never rained.....well I don't remember it raining.
It frequently p!ssed it down for us unfortunately. A lot of the camping trips were going along to whichever fell race my dad was running that particular weekend, Bored stupid for 3 hours at a time freezing our ninnys off whilst our Mum peered through rain smeared binoculars trying to spot my Dad's characteristic sticky out elbow style of running on some bleak fell ridge.
I do love caravans though, at least you stay dry!
My Dad was so @nal that he'd not only plan all the menus for the week but if we wanted to swap one night's beans on toast for another night's choice there was just no way!

I'm not one for big exotic holidays anyway, I prefer my home comforts.
I had a lovely house, it was a wreck but it was my wreck but it had to be sold during my divorce and I'm strived since to own "our own home" but last year I thought "sod it" we're renting for a reason, I wanted to be a SAHM until DD2 went to 2ndary school and this wasn't going to happen if we wanted to buy a house....and boy am I glad now....the situtation as it is means that our rent will be paid....our mortgage wouldn't.
A friend of mine's just finished her mortgage, they have a huge old house, acres of rambling gardens and enough money to buy a new leather sofa for the "play room"....but they're not happy - they both work all the hours god sends so they can have "nice things" - they hate spending time together and go on seperate holidays..... I'd rather have my rented little house, my 2nd hand furniture and a smashing bloke to give me a hug and that wants to spend time with me."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. Must be because you are a welcoming place. Let's face it if kids don't like to go to a place, they won't do it. I remember it when I was a kidBunnyinthelights wrote: »Why do they always play at MY HOUSE!?!?!?!?!

It can be easy to envy somebody else. Sometimes happen to me (versus somebody in my family) but then I am being brought to real life that I have a fantastic partner that I get on with and have built a loving relationship with my parents. I may not have the house in the country and the flat at the sea side but at least I don't get shouted at if I bring the wrong type of salad (I did witness this row :rotfl:)Most of them are from quite affluent families with professional parents (dr's, Surgeons, Dentists, teachers or own businesses) so pretty sure most of them have money.MFW on your mark0 -
Linda~For me that sums everything up about why peeps get into debt.
