  • You lot are lucky. I am still awaiting information on whether Lloyds have deigned to grant me a current account, let alone a monthly saver!

A lot of us already had the current account as one of the best around

Chance would be a fine thing! I have just rung to follow up and 'nothing seems to have happened since we spoke to you on 24/5. I will flag it as urgent'.

    SBI syndrome strikes again!

My SO's also came direct from a Lloyds current account. Just to resummarise one SO on 31/5 and the next on 1/6 bounced straight back. They still haven't called me back after they promised to Thurs pm or Friday. Will try again today (Saturday).

Just logged on. They have now opened a second Monthly Saver, again, taken the deposit from Lloyds Online Saver when they were originally asked to take it from current account (but obviously only for the first one (as we're not allowed to open two). I have never known such a series of errors - but then again I've never done anything other than put money into my bank and spend it via debit card for 20 years until I started reading MSE. Another phone call I think.

£1K Still sitting there earning interest this morning (over 48hrs now). I can only assume that those who have encountered problems and had the £250 bounced back have done so because the two S/O dates were too close together.

Same here. I checked this afternoon. The £1K is still in my monthly saver and no money has been returned to my current account. My SO will stay as the 1st of the month from here on.
    Please call me 'Kazza'.
  • I set up my saver over the phone on the 22nd and as it hadn't been set up as of Wednesday I rang to complain.

This doesn't suprise me. I spoke to a useless person at the Indian call centre last Sunday. During the 20 minute call he asked me my name about 8 times and my date of birth on 5 separate occasions. Tantamount to say, despite assurances at the time, the account was not setup correctly.

Speaking to branch staff, they think the Indian call centres are pretty bad but improving marginally. At least they still have a call centre in Newcastle

When I setup my account at the branch I opted to sort out the standing order myself using Internet Banking.
That way the first monthly payment was by pay a person, and subsequent payments by the normal standing order facility. This meant I didn't need to change the date on the Standing Order.

My first SO was on 30/05 and my 2nd was 05/06 and has been rejected.
There is plenty of gap between them so I dismiss the theory that they are rejected on this basis alone.
My SO comes from my lloyds current ac. I wonder if I will have better success if I transfer the June amount from a different bank?
