Hi - i'm due to be moving out of student halls in the next month, i'm hoping to put my stuff in storage but obviously need storage boxes. Has anyone found a good website for good value delivery boxes. I've seen archive boxes at a half good price which are designed to store documents in, would these do the same job.
Theres so many companies offering such boxes i dont know where to start

Could you try asking a local supermarket for any large boxes they have? I know the supermarket I used to work in where happy enough to give these away, and the crisp boxes in particular were huge!0

Definetly try a supermarket or a local fruit and veg shopI’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Quick Grabbit, Freebies, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning and the UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.

They may not be very big: check dimensions! And they may not be THAT strong. But they would all be a similar size: sometimes that's a big help if you've got to stack them! But don't use BIG boxes for books: they're very hard to lift - the boxes you get with 5 reams of A4 paper in are good for books I find (but that may just be a girlie thing, and if you have as many books as we do, bigger might be better ...)crazy_guy wrote:I've seen archive boxes at a half good price which are designed to store documents in, would these do the same job.
If you've got a local Freecycle, you could try asking on there for boxes from someone who's just moved.
You also need LOTS of strong brown packing tape. The wide, very sticky stuff. NOT sellotape!Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
I dont know how it will stand against being stored, but when i moved i used those collapsable crates you can get - they are relatively sturdy (i filled mine with CDs and one full of hard backs and it was sturdy), and when you are done with them they fold into next to nothing... Also i use a few of mine still or laundry sorting, and some are still under my bed with clutter. They cost about £1.47 from Tesco - and it may seem a bit pricey - but you can keep these forever and when you dont need them they wont be in your way as they collapse.0
