This company is now the new E2save - shocking service, delaying tactics with cash back payments. A bunch of chimpanzees could run the company better.

From emailing my first on-line bill 5 months ago I received my first cash back cheque within 10 days. It's been nearly 7 weeks since I emailed my 2nd claim on 30th August. I received the email below on the 26th September:

We can confirm your Cashback has been authorised and the cheque has been requested from Carphone Warehouse Head office.

Please allow 28 days for your cheque to be generated and dispatched to you.

Thank you from the Mobiles.co.uk team, part of The Carphone Warehouse.

This company is a joke, I thought emailing my bills would speed up the process!! All I can do is wait another 7 months and make sure I never use this company again.

Careful - you might be attacked for warning others of what is normal for this company. Especially for having the cheek to compare them with E2Save - even though they are in effect the same company (cpw).

I'd recommend Dialaphone/Phones4U - fantastic company to deal with. No delays with cash back claims and great communication.

Just a quick update, sent my 2nd cash back claim by email on 30/08/09. Had a email on Monday 31st of August advising me that my bill had been printed off. Received the email below on 26th September:

Dear Customer,

We can confirm your Cash back has been authorised and the cheque has been requested from Carphone Warehouse Head office.

Please allow 28 days for your cheque to be generated and dispatched to you.

Thank you from the Mobiles.co.uk team, part of The Carphone Warehouse.

Finally received my cash back cheque today after 6 weeks.

My new theory for these cowboys is to delay your claim hoping that you won't pursue your cash back and when you do start chasing your cheque they then take you seriously.

Just like any company associated with the Carphone Warehouse - AVOID AVOID AVOID! My brother's latest claim took 9 weeks for the cheque to arrive after numerous emails chasing the payment.

The people that are still recommending this company have been very fortunate. I'd advise anyone to go with the majority and use a more reliable retailer (Phones4U group of companies) if you go for a cash back deal.

I do know that people have been having problems with Mobiles and I am not unsympathetic. Having just looked on the Phones4U web site the Samsung Tocco Ultra with O2 on the 600 mins and unlimited texts package is the same price as Mobiles, £25 pm, however, Mobiles are offering £90 automatic cashback (it was £130 last week when my friend bought it) so it is a no brainer in my book.

Anyone thinking of buying from MOBILES.CO.UK should be aware that the customer service department and the way they treat customers (after they have you on contract) is DISGUSTING !

You would be better going to a loan shark ! . . at least they talk to you !

Yet another promise from a cpw company.

Well, they do try - it's not really their fault. It's the fault of....

bird flu... the network.... huge demand from thousands and thousands of satisfied customers.... too many calls for the insufficient number of staff to answer in a reasonable time - so now no numbers TO call.... the delivery service.... the postal strike.... people not reading (mobiles' unwritten) version of its own (written) t&c.... cpw's internal procedures ... and last, but not least -

YOU; the CUSTOMER!!

Rules of the game:-

1) Copy any offer on the website at the point of ordering.
2) Expect the offer to be "a mistake" or "badly worded" and be subjected to an inferior version.
3) If you want to cancel, jump through hoops for days - then weeks - being ignored until they can then inform you that it is too late because you're outside the cancellation period.
4) Ignore any timescales relating to payments they should make to you. After all - they do!
5) When all else fails, remember - they are on of the fairest dealers on the net!!!!

(Having said that, there are a couple on the go and mobiles.co.uk customer services do seem to be in a really bad way.)
