Your post has got me mad, "covert surveillance" !!!!!!. Why don't you do some investigating into your corrupt councillors? Every council in this country is corrupt to the core.
Get off on "your powers" do you?[/QUOTE]
Covert sureveillance is ONLY used when there is no other overt way to gain the evidence to prove if an offence has taken place. It has to be authorised/checked by the legal department, and the Surveilance Commissioner also does audit checks.
Sorry to disappointm, but I onoly investigate parking fraud. Councillors expenses is not my thing.
I "get off" on my powers when i catch people comitting fruad, and prove it in court. Why should some people not pay for parking when 99% of ordinary motorists do?
It's protecting the councils revenue (parking is self-' funding - it doesnt come out of Council tax. Parking revenue is used to fund many council services)
Why should non-disabled people abuse blue badges and get away with it? They are depriving genuine blue badge holders from convenient parking. Im trying to bring a bit of justice to the average motorist and disabled people."It's official, MSE's harbouring total fruitcakes">^..^<0 -
NessyNoo, can you tell us under what legal authority (act of parliament) you have been given the sort of legal powers which I am sure most of us thought were reserved for the police (interviews under caution etc).0

I'm afraid that this thread has gone from a paid parking ticket and an interview to blue badge parking (seems to be the norm for MSE)
Not sure how but is it possible to get back on track?I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0 -

LOL you got that right, the best forum on the net for going off on a tangent.peter_the_piper wrote: »Not sure how but is it possible to get back on track?
Without input from the OP I very much doubt itAlways try to be at least half the person your dog thinks you are!0 -
Think about how benefit fraud is investigated. They interview under caution too. What about Trading standards officer? I have a letter at work which describes the Act under which i have authority to investigate. I dont have it with me, so i will post later this week with the name of the Act.
I am not alone, many LAs have parking fraud investigators.
I hope the OP posts again tomorrow with an update."It's official, MSE's harbouring total fruitcakes">^..^<0 -

All the above are either part of local or national government departments and thus have these legal powers bestowed on them. Unless Carillion have been nationalised recently, they are just a private company with no more right than you or I to question people under caution. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -
The post made at #4 was germane and reasonable yet remains unanswered.
I know it can sometimes be difficult for people to stay with threads they have initiated, but as the OP will soon have been absent for 48 hours from here, it's difficult to know how much value she herself attaches to the responses here.
As it stands, a hare has been set running about a private sector enterprise's possibly deceitful pretence to quasi-judicial powers for the purpose of intimidation and harassment.
That's a bigger issue than anything else here.
But sadly, without any textual evidence so far to sustain it.0 -

Don't park in the hospital car parks then??
Does that include the time in August when I rushed 3 people to Hospital & dropped them at the A&E entrance, found a parking space & went in to find out my father-in-law died seconds before I got there?
Luckily I was in time for both his daughters..
T**t...??Not Again0 -

That post looks like I should be agreeing with it but as I don't understand it, I might notAlways try to be at least half the person your dog thinks you are!0
