Carphone warehouse have a mean refund policy

the phone is a PAYG and the company have replaced the phone with the exact model which is working (i got it yesterday)

So you have a working phone, the phone that you picked to begin with, I don't see why they would offer a refund unless it was either out of stock or had continuous problems.

Sale of goods may apply here if you have further problems with the phone as the sale was for the phone, not the contract of mobile services.

I made a complaint about the poor service I received from CarPhone Warehouse. They replied back with a compensation payment of five pounds (aint I lucky) I told them to review the compensation payment and they wrote back saying this is the correct payment. I guess five quid might do a dent in the profits, being such a larghe company HAHAHAHAHA

Although they told me I have a five quid gift voucher, the voucher was not included in their response and they gave me no instructions or information on how to access the fiver, well done Carphone warehouse!!!!

This will be the last time I shop with the store, never again, useless customer service

Official T & C states you're entitled to a refund on the price of the handset within 28 days if the handset is confirmed faulty. However, you do lose your airtime credit which you would've purchased at point of sale as this is non refundable and you cannot keep the sim card so an exchange would be preferable.

The store could have transferred in another handset for you from another store, however this takes up to a week and tends to be more hassle than it's worth for the customer in the long run. It probably was the best thing for you to do to travel to the other store but it sounds like it was not handled in the best way.

They say that you are never more than 30 metres away from a rat in the UK now. Where I live, it seems you are never more than that distance from a CPW shop either, so OP must have been really unlucky to be 15 minutes from the nearest CPW shop! ;)
