Does it count as shill bidding if you buy your own BIN listings ?

I just like to buy my own items that is all.
I hope you make a good profit from yourself?
Why don't you just sell stuff to yourself outside of Ebay....then you could save the listing fees. If you were really clever you could arrange to meet yourself so that you save on the postage too.alwaysskint96 wrote: »Shouldnt think so- just pointless?

Waiting for the thread complaining that the postage was too high and the item was never received.I no longer work in Council Tax Recovery but instead work as a specialist Council Tax paralegal assisting landlords and Council Tax payers with council tax disputes and valuation tribunals. My views are my own reading of the law and you should always check with the local authority in question.0 -
I tried it bought a few of my items from myself. Doesn't to have made much difference to my search standing. So why are these chinese sellers getting in front of me when I have better feedback, better dsr's and more keywords in the title ?
Best Match is a murky system, depend often on Recent Sales, titles, price etc which it is difficult to get ahead of the chinese as they sell things so cheaply and with so many listings (expect a response below at some point telling me im wrong but do ignore them

It's better advice to ignore the troll. The amount of listings you have does not affect anything, if it did then we wouldn't have a best match position of 2 with one of the most popular keywords on ebay since we only ever have under 10 listings running.fatherazhara wrote: »Best Match is a murky system, depend often on Recent Sales, titles, price etc which it is difficult to get ahead of the chinese as they sell things so cheaply and with so many listings (expect a response below at some point telling me im wrong but do ignore them

However it is far too complex a system to be manipulated effectively, you just need to figure out how your buyers search (and keep your fingers crossed that most of them don't want to buy from hong kong, and can find the UK only tick box.)This is my opinion. There are many others like it but this is mine:kisses2: Fiancee of the "lovely" DaveAshton :kisses2:I am a professional ebay seller. I work hard at my job, I love my job, if you think it's silly that's your problem not mine.

Also depends on whether you're a business, TRS etc. I messaged them about the Best Match being all over the place, they replied with:fatherazhara wrote: »Best Match is a murky system, depend often on Recent Sales, titles, price etc which it is difficult to get ahead of the chinese as they sell things so cheaply and with so many listings (expect a response below at some point telling me im wrong but do ignore them

So basically, no matter what you do at the moment, it won't make much difference until they settle on a system to use.Hello Dave,
Thank you for writing back to eBay PowerSeller Support.
Dave, I can surely understand your point that being a Top Rated Seller,
these listings should appear higher in search results. I've consulted
one of the members from our technical team and they've informed me that
as they're testing some variations of Best Match on the site so that Top
Rated Sellers can enjoy the real benefits of increased visibility.
As a results of this, you will experience different variations of Best
Match over the coming weeks, which also includes a time ending soonest
environment for control purposes. These tests will enable us to release
a new Best Match which surfaces the best deals for buyers and helps you
to gain more visibility for their inventory.
Test variations are assigned based on a user?s cookie, which ensures
that a random sample of people are placed into each variation. This
explains why users can see different variations of the test on different
computers, different browsers on the same computer, or by clearing
cookies.
For further information about the enhancements to Best Match, copy this
link into a new browser window: What link???? Oh well :sigh:
Thanks for being a wonderful member of our community. I sincerely regret
any inconvenience caused to you.
Kind regards,

Personally speaking I always sort auctions by time ending soonest as these will be more reflective of the ending prices than any of the others. I then scroll past all the featured listings to the first of the auctions ending soonest.
Also I set the "distance" to within 250 miles as I find this filters out non-UK sellers better than ticking the UK only tick box.
