prescription items out of stock

It makes you at fault for not being aware of your own rights. It's not the fault of the pharmacy as they've done nothing wrong.
They obviously can't accept dispensed medicines back again in case you've tampered with them in someway.
As others have pointed out to you; if they don't have your complete prescription then walk away.
The pharmacy have done nothing wrong? You really can't be serious.
They accepted the OP's prescription knowing full well they did not have enough medication to dispense it. They then asked the customer to return, not once but on three separate occasions as they were unable to produce the medication owed!It is essential medication but our surgery won't allow prescriptions to be issued till just before the last one runs out. And the issue is that I can't visit another pharmacy as the one I went to gave me 16 tablets THEN told me the rest were not in stock, and wouldn't then take the 16 tablets back and return my prescription...therefore I CAN'T go to another pharmacy as the first one has my prescription!!! I put the prescription in with plenty of time for it to be filled so it's not like I'm disorganised!
You really do need to read the OP's reply to your post, the pharmacy gave her the 16 tablets and THEN told her they didn't have the rest in stock, by which time the script had already been stamped and she could not exercise her right to go elsewhere. Other people, myself included have already told you that this is often the case, the admission of not having the stock is not made until the script has been stamped, at which point it can't be taken elsewhere. The OP is not at fault since she has effectively been denied her rights by the pharmacy stamping the prescription.LemonGrove wrote: »I know your frustration, but my Pharmacy won't allow you to take part of a prescription so in the case that they don't have all my creams they return it and I go to the one down the road who always have it in. I'd always thought it was a legal thing that it had to be all or nothing.
Maybe I should go there everytime.
LemonGrove has pointed out the correct procedure that all pharmacies should adhere to, unfortunately it is not in their economic interests to do so. Instead a large proportion employ the underhand tactics, that have caused the majority of posters on this thread to agree with zacsmum.
:rolleyes:Some people hear voices, some see invisible people. Others have no imagination whatsoever

Thanks for that, Unity. Seems Malkie needs to have it explained to him really slowly and carefully several times over before he understands it.
Shame, isn't it? But then I really shouldn't mock the afflicted...maybe if I ignore him he will go away.0
