Parked in Battersea park for first time on a SUNDAY. Didn't see tiny sign, got fined.

The sign that is shown above car is a reminder sign. There should be other signage in the car park I think.
That's just what I was thinking. When I see a blue 801.jpg , especially on a sign mentioning "pay and display" I will always walk around until I find either another sign or the meter itself which will display terms and conditions. In most cases, the meter will say "SUNDAYS AND BANK HOLIDAYS FREE", but some do not.

Ok thanks all. Expensive lesson learnt I think. I've never come across these tiny signs before and so always just on the lookout for the larger white ones (as seen in my last pic).

    Hang on! Expensive lesson learnt?!

Are you certain that the signs are all in order? You haven't even shown us the ticket yet. There may be errors on that.

At least you may have seen that I was replying somewhat tongue in cheek

Neil/Sarah. especially you both who take this topic very seriously at all times

Fair point and, given that my post was somewhat agrressive and reactionary, a welcome good humoured response from you.

    Thanks

If you appeal or not, ask to pay in instalments. Better in your bank than theirs.

    Could somebody explains please...

On this pix the signpost showed "Mon - Fri 9.30am - 4.30pm" while he parked there on a Sunday which means outside the restricted time periods?

Then how could they issue him a ticket?:confused::confused:

a - what does the actual sign say? I can see a P from the photos so it's not that tiny.
b - what does the ticket say
c - did you drive straight past any P&D machines when you entered the park; where are they?

The OP hasn't been back for over a fortnight, and seems to have taken little notice of the advice he's been given.

Yet another one who can't be bothered. I don't know why we bother.

I did take notice of everyones post (and thanked them) and it was clear from the majority that I should of seen the sign. Jess, why does this have to become an issue now.

Of course I am bothered when I had to pay £40 fine, however I just wanted advice from the experts weather or not I would have much chance winning my appeal. If chances were only VERY slim, then I wouldn't bother wasting my time and energy fighting this.

I'm sorry I haven't been back in over a forthnight, but I consided this closed as my last post advised I would be paying the fine.
