  • This type of comment is exactly why I suggested the "N" in BNP stands for "Nasty".

I understand that Jack Straw's father was imprisoned at the beginning of World War 2 as a conscientious objector, but whatever you might think of him that has absolutely no bearing on Jack Straw or modern-day politics. It's just an extremely unpleasant jibe and is, I'm afraid, typical of BNP supporters.

I find daddy Straw very relevant to New Labour politics. He was used a number of times during QT, as son Jack's fall back position when he wanted to emphasise Nick Griffin's alleged racist stance.
However, when Griffin played his 'My father served in the RAF' ace, Jack had no cards left to deal.

OK, lets try the same question using "white British" - an ethnic based classification used by the 2001 census in the UK.

Ethnic minorities aren't asking to be classed as "white British": they are asking that nationality doesn't require you to be of a particular colour and ethnicity ("white British" as you put it).

I'd like to correct a previous post you made regarding the nationality laws of China; anyone (regardless of ethnicity) can naturalise as a Chinese national. I'm not familiar with Pakistani nationality laws but I assume they don't discriminate based on ethnicity/colour.
