Tories or Labour for those with high income and good savings?

Gosh this has aroused a few passions! So i shall add my two pennyworth and though i know it will set off another debate quite irrelevant to this topic,my reason for not voting Tory is that they have stated they will go all out to restore hunting with dogs again. And that to me does not sit with a more modern, caring humane party at all.More like going back to the dark ages.
So although i do not agree with a lot of what labour has done this was one very great achievement.Oh and to get back to the economy my mum as a pensioner says she is better off now than ever before.0 -
A lot of personal prejudices are in this thread so be wary of opinions.
The markets tend to agree with the consensus when it comes to personal finance and who looks after prudent savers, etc and there is usually one answer: Tory.
Tax-free allowances introduced under Major, and Thatcher started a bit of an entreprise revolution with the start up programme.
New Labour, however, having been handed a perfect balance book and a golden ticket, have managed the economy reasonably like a Tory government would have, apart from the waste in the first half of this decade and the stupendous borrowing this half.
You can bet most of the City, small business owners, those with significant savings, etc will vote Conservative.0 -

Proof, if ever any were needed, that the white working class are as thick as sh it.0 -
No he didn't. Probably just another rumour put about by your hero.Snakeeyes21 wrote: »but didnt the pope deny the holocaust happened?"The trouble with quotations on the Internet is that you never know whether they are genuine" - Charles Dickens0 -
Bigot? Whose a bigot?I really couldn't care less.
I've never ever felt like "a 2nd class citizen in my own country", most of it is bull$hit stirred up by the closet racists who write for the Mail and Express.
I have ethnic Chinese and Asian friends and don't take kindly to the idea that the BNP don't define them as British.
British isn't an ethnic group for Christ's sake! It's a cultural term which was coined in the 18th century to unite the various cultural groups in the UK under one banner against French invasion!
I find it absolutely DISGUSTING and OFFENSIVE that, according to the BNP, my BRITISH BORN Asian friends can't be defined as BRITISH when the very term BRITISH is a made-up term, and I AM WHITE.
If you believe that British is an ethnic group then you seriously need to read a book.
As for shutting the borders - good luck with that.
I'm sure our !!!!less, stupid and lazy PREDOMINANTLY WHITE urban underclass would do a great job at driving the economy - oh no wait, they won't work for less £7 an hour.
Or are you so stupid that you actually believe what the papers say that all immigrants come here to "milk the benefits system".
Put yourself in the shoes of an Afghan or Somalian refugee - do you honestly think that at home they sat around all day watching Trisha? All they bloody know is WORK, WORK OR DIE, that is why they come here to WORK and to EARN MONEY to give their families an EDUCATION. Something the vast majority of people in this county take for granted, with increasing numbers of white working class boys failing to even get basic GCSES, and the rest of the population thinking nothing of spunking £50 every weekend on booze and !!!!ing up against war memorials.0 -

Were you never taught that the use of CAPS is the keyboard equivalent of shouting?
Please learn some manners before attempting to enforce your "values" on the white ethnic members of this forum. Grow up laddie.0 -
Look out, it's a working class hero.

Does the Pope shi.t in the woods?
And what the fuc.k do I care what the Pope thinks anyway?
I am sufficiently bright to make up my own mind on such issues, and suitably staggered that anyone - pond life Griffin included - could conceive that "it never happened". What's more, it is indefensible to politicise the issue in such a way.
I take it by your distaste for the BNP you will be voting for labour or tories? are you going to mark your ballot paper in blood? If you vote labour or tory you have the blood of hundreds of thousands of Iraqi and Afghan people on you hands
Drop the rhetoric - it is clearly inappropriate.
I'm from Liverpool, I have a brain and I'm under the age of 93 so cannot see myself voting Tory. Ever.
I despise absolutely everything about New Labour.
I'll probably vote Green.Frugality wrote:

Sadly so. However, New Labour has sold out to such an extent that (until recently) they represented the Party of choice for the City. I think that in many ways, New Labour were far more 'liberal' (in the "shafting people for money" sense) than any previous Tory government...
Consider "light touch" regulation, the obscene growth in the City of London, etc.
Proof, if ever any were needed, that the white working class are as thick as sh it.
I don't think this is remotely helpful. For the avoidance of doubt: I work for an IFA.0
