BAB UK: Are they genuine?!

Don't worry about the wck2 at the beginning of the web address - that is totally legit.
Babuk Limited is registered at companies house, under registration number06071446.
However, they are overdue with regards to submitting annual accounts (never a good sign). The last annual accounts submitted were for period ending 31-Jan-2008 and they were dormant at that time.
Their registered office appears to be a virtual office/mailbox address

Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100 -
".wck2" is just the subdomain, with ".companieshouse.gov.uk" being the actual domain so it is infact the companies house site0

Customer Claims Ltd and Bab UK Ltd I could see neither of these companies being authorised at the Ministry of Justice.
If you receive any calls from either of these to companies this must be reported imediately to the Ministry of Justice https://www.claimsregulation.gov.uk/search.aspx
Please DO NOT pay anything to them or give them any of your personal details.

Just had a call on my mobile from these people who didn't use my name, i told them that if i had paid any bank charges(they asked me if I had because apparently Ive come up on a database) then that was between me and the bank, and that I'd already claimed some 2 yrs ago without paying anyone to do it for me.0

I did subscribe to BAB August 2009 - I did upgrade to their Platinum Service - thats were they do all the work.
I DID receive £710 back from the bank in question BUT paid them:
2 x £49.95 for each claim (2 accounts)
1 x £163.00 fee (23%) of money received
Since the ruling was overturned, I got new correspondance from BAB UK stating they could try the claim from another angle. I signed the new paperwork (which didnt mention additional fees). To my amazement they have taken £110.45 which caused me to go into an unauthorised overdraft...
Their website is down
'BABUK Ltd
Our website is currently being reviewed. We apologise for any inconvenient whilst this is happening.'
I will try to ring them tomorrow to demand £ back - also will phone the fraud dept of my own bank as they didnt have permission to take further monies - they didnt have my permission to keep my card details either.
Grrrrrrr0 -
Don't trust BABUK they've got £50 from me for absolutely nothing

Hi I joined this forum because I saw so much bad news coming across about BABUK. LTD. They got me too and I am having considerable trouble with them at the moment, but I just learned from the Ministry of Justice website that AUTHORISATION SUSPENDED on 25/03/2010. So "If a claims management businesses authorisation has been suspended or cancelled it means that it will no longer be able to carry out any claims management services. As a result they will not be able to continue assisting consumers with their claims." As BABUK LTD is only suspended at the moment, it must mean that enquiries are still ongoing which could lead to Authorisation being cancelled altogether. Don't be scared or intimidated by them.0

I have a very similar situation to you. I have had success with my claims through BABUK and they have taken their percentage out of my bank without my permission.
My own sitiation is, my claims packs were mis-sold to me in early 2008. On receiving my packs, i noticed in the small print the 20% cut that BABUK take. This WAS NOT mentioned to me over the phone when i agreed to buy these packs SO i called them back demanding a refund. They then responded saying that they will waive their 20% fee and continue with my claims. I of course got this sent to me in writing. This is literally THE ONLY reason i continued with my claim with BABUK.
In recent months i have been getting my money back but BABUK still took their 20% fee directly from my bank without my permission. On contacting BABUK about this, i was instructed to send a copy of the letter stating that they are not entitled to the 20% fee. I sent it recorded delivery and have been told for the past month that 'It is being looked into'....i have today tried to phone BABUK and all i get is a continuous tone.....Not happy.0 -
Cant get a hold of these bar stools! What I have noticed is that they money was taken after they had their Licence revoked by MoJ.
I have just completed the online form on the MoJ site to complain about them...0
