  • any charges on the credit cards?
Yes, I have a Barclaycard with charges of £370.60 and a LloydsTSB Credit Card with charges of £172.41.

Those figures include interest calculations made in July 09, so in fact I'm owed slightly more now.

I sent both companies the template letter supplies by this website. Lloyds told me politely to "pis$ off" and Barclaycard refunded the difference between my charges and the £12 they charge these days.

But I understand I ought to be able to claim it ALL back if I persevere.

One problem is that I've lost the original letters I sent. But I don't suppose that matters too much.

What's the next step if I want to "claim the lot"?

Step 1 find out how much you have been charged
step 2 ask for the money back
step 3 ask again for the money back
if they don't refund then we will see whether a county court will decide against them.

Hi, I’m new here I have seen you are offering assistance in reclaiming Bank Charges and Payment Protection Charges ? I’ve just had a call from the Lovely People at BAB UK, when asked for my payment details it set alarm bells ringing and I got lucky when I came across the numerous articles etc on the company. When they called me back to take the payment I told them in no uncertain terms I believed them to be a ‘dodgy’ outfit and they should cease calling me, furthermore when I asked how my number was obtained and where my personal details were obtained from the Lady ‘Charlotte’ put the phone down on me.

Any Assistance in how to reclaim these charges would be gratefully received ...

    Regards

I'm not expert on the PPI stuff but there is a part of the forum where people are.
If you go to the reclaims tabs at the top of the page to the right of Martin Lewis it will give you a link to reclaiming bank/credit card charges.

Just stumbled on this thread having a browse.

BAB UK are "legitimate" in that they reclaim charges, however, much cheaper to do it yourself (as stated above) and they cant do much more than anyone else with the current hold on claims.

As for gaining peoples details, I would suggest the phone book coupled with the electoral role.

And how do they know you had bank charges in the past? - Who hasnt! (apart from the elite few roaming on here)
No Longer works for MBNA as of August 2010 - redundancy money will be nice though.

  • WARNING!!! I've just been scammed by babuk. I had a call from a company stating they are called customer claims ltd. I did at first agree to go ahead with them but stated I did not have enough money because I'm on benefits just now. I stupidly gave them my bank card number but with the proviso that I would try to loan the money from a friend and they could take the payment the following week. The girl called Danielle rang me and I explained that I had been unable to borrow any money and therefore could not go ahead at the moment. She said this was fine they could put it on hold for now until such time as I rang back to let them know I could go ahead. I stated that this would be sometime in the new year. I looked at my internet banking today to find that they had taken £49.99 from my account under the name bab.uk.net. I have now had to report this to the police and cancel my bank card with immediate effect. I have also been advised to contact my banks fraud department in the morning. I can't beleive I have been so stupid but they have unfortunately caught me at my most vulnerable. I am struggling to afford christmas presents for my 6 year old daughter and therefore jumped at the chance to get some money back from bank charges. Now thanks to these people I'm struggling even more!!! please don't give your bank card details to these people. They are sick. I even told the girl on the phone I can't do this right now as I can barely afford christmas presents for my child.
  • You can write to them at this address and explain the circumstances and ask them to cancel the claim and refund the money

Hi there, i had a call from this number 0161 662 5080 on 25th jan 2010, asking for me by name, thinking this may of been important in some way i confirmed my name. They said they were helping people claim back bank charges and that they offer the legal paperwork in order to claim, for £49.99. Dont know how they know my details, including those of my bank, but on looking in to this company, so called 'bab.uk.net', i have found out that something is VERY WRONG with this site. For example, they say they are registered with Companies House, so as i wanted to know what was going on here i clicked to check it out.

Now, if you google Companies House you get this link, ( new user so cant post links but will try ) ( w w w. companieshouse.gov.uk ).
When you click the link on bab.uk.net to veiw their registration at Companies House, the link is as follows. ( http ://wck2.companieshouse.gov.uk/30fe1197e3aa147c1c8a90e5440fc59c/wcframe?name=accessCompanyInfo ) Now NOTICE the ( http:// wck2. ) at the begining of the address. This is NOT the real deal as most would think. I may be wrong, but i think its fair to say these are FRAUDSTERS / SCAMMERS.. All of us that are affected by these need to pull together here and stop it quick..After all, its our money and our id's at stake.

Hope someone looks into what i have said here and confirms to me / all of us that this is a SCAM....Hope this helps to put an end to this and gets back people's money, that we all work hard for....
