OMG it's back. Duff duff duff. Drooooooooone droooooooooone bang bang.
Where's that pencil?
BeenieCat you have really made me laugh, You remind me of myself although i'm just intolerant and not pergnant
We too have new neighbours and they played very loud bass music the first day they moved in  I'm like you and don't want the confrontation, I sit here and am raging and want to stab them with the pencil instead. They haven't been too bad yet but it's early days0 -
Living in a terraced house means that you'll always have to put up with some noise, imho. Especially during the day. It certainly sounds like the hormones are giving it an edge for you.
I only get home from my working day at 7pm, so if my neighbours expected me not to play music or have the TV on from then I would be really cross.
Doing some DIY when you first move into a house until 9pm sounds perfectly reasonable. If they are just moving in then surely it will die down in the next few weeks.:A :heartpuls June 2014 / £2014 in 2014 / £735.97 / 36.5%0 -
I am all for 'live and let live' but i just want to go and throw a brick in their faces.
That wouldnt help. I wouldnt say anything unless its really really bad once you have spoken to neighbours its never the same!
As someone else said there is always noise when you live in a terrace.:footie:0 -
It doesn't sound that bad too be honest, DIY noise that is over by nine and music during the day. That isn't unreasonable.
The walls are obviously paper thin, is it worth contacting the council to see if they can help you with sound insulation??
I really don't think you have groounds to complain. Especially not as they are probably hearing your tv and music, and your child crying/playing/running upstairs etc. By complaining you could make things worse so don't unless you are sure that they are being unreasonably loud.
When you live in a terrace one of the disadvantages is noise, but every time you hear them think about the money you save on heating being in a terrace with neighbours either side.
I think that really music or DIY before nine is fine and TV until 11pm or even later........ If you do feel the need to mention it do it in a is there anyway you could lower the volume a bit, hope that isn't too unreasonable way. They have a right to enjoy their property too. It could be worse, you could have a shift worker or students instead!0 -
I've lived in a terrace for 23 years with a huge assortment of neighbours, Crying babies, yappy dogs, complete refurbishment of the house next door, axle grinders, rock music(OMG) and a dartboard against my party wall that just about sent me mental counting in three's! My solution was an I-pod and headphones with my own soothing music on until it all went quiet. Failing that put some nature documentary on the telly, they always have whales singing and stuff, and turn it up a bit.
My OH is going deaf and I'm sure you can hear our TV for miles, crazy world. LOL.0
