You can take your previous MOT but it's not necessary as everything is on a computerised database.

Good luck! (baby and car :T)

OK, OK. Yes I phrased that wrong. What I should have said (after my morning coffee ;)) was can it have a typo? I was under the impression that the fail/advisory statements were copy/paste lines of text from a global crib sheet or similar. Obviously not though - hence the typo :D
Tester probably hadn't had his morning coffee!

Good news Jitters - you can sell it now!

........ If I sold this car, do I have to show the orginal MOT cert and advisory or can I just show the (more facourable) full re-test MOT + advisory report?.....

You can cheerfully throw the advisory notice away, the actual MOT is all you need

I wish I could've generated as much passion, attention, controversy and banter on the BER thread as this one!!

If it helps I went over and signed the petition - can't really believe there hasn't been more of stink kicked up over it really.

HTH, have a great night. ;)

It wasn't well advertised when it came in in 2003 and its not well advertised now... as I've said, who is lining who's pockets to keep it all so low key??

Glad to know you signed the petition - trouble is, I can't find out how many have signed... :o

I don't know to what extent you are with the r2r campaign and website but perhaps you could set up an additional petition on the downing street petition website? As there have been some pretty good, and high profile stories as a result - the most recent that comes to mind was the apology to Alan Turing.

(I also think that having it on the government's website gives it a more "official" look - which can help get people signing and emailing amongst friends)

    All the best.

You make it sound like its a one woman campaign! I've got a big gob, you may have noticed... :rotfl: But we need a big gob linked with the media which is why I thought of Martin and Quentin Willson. But mainly Martin if I am honest, as he seems to be on everything! And Quentin hasn't even responded to my email!

I'd prefer that our posts about this were on the other thread!! Raise the profile!!

Thanks for your invaluable input, it really aided and added to the thread. Honestly, why bother posting?
    Thread hi jack

Hardly. If anything it was I that went off topic and hijacked my own thread.

Back to the drawing board methinks, try and post something more constructive or useful which will benefit the community, it'll reflect much better on you...:T
