We have a prominent note on our front door stating no door to door selling. If anyone ignores this they are shown it. If they persist they are told to go away and the door is slammed in their face.

I did have one knock on the door, and I asked if they saw the sign, and the bloke argued that meant nothing.

I had some bible bashers once too, and i pointed out that the sign said no cold-callers; they insisted they weren't cold callers...

But otherwise it seems to work.

Well just done the 3 day induction course, and apart from the fact that the unit its self it very good, I wont be working for then after reading all this bad hype about them.

They do a very good job of getting the dirt out, without a doubt, its the you can have it for £2 a day hype that rubs the wrong way, also the finace that they give to ANY ONE ( or so they say). They claim to be the No 1 in the UK and Europe for kirbys, also they claim you wont get the spare parts any where else apart from them, the internet is full of supply outlets, also Ebay is packed with Kirbys.

Also the friends and family demo they want you to do is 2 on friday 4 on Sat and 4 on Sun, (and your not even paid for them) is just to get thier details and possible sales. The sales Manager said many times he has 50 thousand customers, why does he need my friends and faimly other than to perster and bombard them. Sorry but work and private life are and should be seperate things.

The visit is supposed to take 90 mins but will and does take much much longer if you dont buy it.

The commision rate is bad and I do mean bad, for a unit costing £2400 you get very little, after speaking with 3 sales reps outside of the induction its very clear your going to spend 6 days a week 12 to 16 hours plus a day in homes that either just want a carpet clean, or your there to service thier OLD machine, declare it very worn out, and go for the UPGRADE and trade in of thier old unit.

I applied for the service tech job, and even thats just a glorified sales rep who just happens to know what screws to undo to open the main unit up.

    In short.
If you want no life and want a presseuired sales life go for it.
if however you wise to the fact your being used to push a VERY overly priced unit then dont make my mistake, dont apply.

£2400, blimey! You know those 1950's looking Electrolux commercial uprights? Chrome base and double-sized bag? £40, new, including VAT. I'm pretty sure it'll still be running long after I am!
  • I am so surprised that Kirby are still getting away with using bully boy tactics and exploiting their staff whilst not paying them a penny for their work and also using false advertising to members of the public regards winning prizes that don't actually exist! I had the misfortune of being a Kirby rep for 3 months. I used my own car and my own money for fuel whilst ferrying 3 other reps around to work different areas. We had to spend 1 day per week posting those fictitious prize draw cards in all weather's. Our names were written on the cards so that any appointments were passed to that particular rep so you couldn't pretend to post them and bin them or you would get no demo's and no potential sale. They bribed you with ridiculous prizes for the most appointments made and told us that we too could have a nice company car one day just like the manager had. I spent most of my time being kicked out of houses by irate husbands cos they didn't know their wives had booked these demos and also being used by people just wanting a free carpet clean. We never cleaned a whole carpet, we just demo'd about a square inch of it.
If I was to say anything about the hoover itself all I would say is they are the best machines ever! I would not touch a Dyson with a barge pole and there is absolutely no comparison to a Kirby. The machine can sell itself there is absolutely no need to exploit and lie to people to try and sell them as this is just giving Kirby a bad reputation. Maybe if Kirby went about selling their product in an honest manner like Mr Dyson does they may one day proceed him instead of lying, cheating and exploiting people.
  • Considering I have a Kirby, and have had a free carpet cleaning before I purchased the machine, I find your posts very dramatic... How can you cast blame on a company because you are weak and afraid to ask someone to leave YOUR home? This speaks more volumes on your character than it does about the company... If you don't want something, you say no.... if the person is persistent in terms of hard selling... then you clarify no thanks.... still got the person in your house, tell them to leave or you are calling the police!!!!! How can people blame their cowardly ways on a young lad and brand him a bully???? it is ridiculous.... I have had nothing but a great service from Kirby after purchasing my machine ON MY OWN ACCORD and not having been 'bullied' into it!

    Salesman? :p
  • Unfortunately Premier Finance GB Ltd is ran by a bunch of CROOKS . They have taken a fantastic product and instead of giving their staff and customers a great opportunity and a great service respectively , they have completely distorted the meaning of doing good ethical business and turned it into a Scam of an organization. Their registered directors of course only play a shadow role for tax evasion purposes and the real day to day running of the Scamming organization is done by people who should, really be in JAIL.
Phoenixing companies all the time running them into tens of thousands of debt avoiding any kind of duties and of course not repaying the creditors is the M.O of this company. They have had at least 10 other registered trading names and variations or mis-spelling and case sensitive characters , Trading Names and registered addresses designed to deceive , employees - customers - government . in that order.
Surely, there must be a way we can lock them up and start enjoying good ethical businesses' services and products.

Let's all brainstorm and i m sure together we can achieve more !!!

P.S I used to be a proud owner of Kirby products for years and a loyal long standing customer. After my encounter of poor service and deception on a grand scale by Premier Finance GB Ltd , or Premier (sales/service) limited, or Premier Systems (Sw) Limited,or Premier Systems (GB) Limited , or P.F (International) Ltd , or Jem Dec Limited, or Jem-Dec Services Limited, or J D Services (Southwest) Limited , or Kjd services (Sw) limited , i am massively disappointed that a 100 year old Solid standing company is represented in this way.
By the way all of the aforementioned companies are few of the many faces of the same devil. I bet there will be few more if we dig a little bit deeper.

    Looking forward to your replies!!!
