It's a personally leased car, on a scheme from my employer that replaced the company car scheme. I can buy it at the end of the lease if I want, for just over £4,000.

As fer as I remember on your year astra there was a small button on the switch housing (about the size of a matchstick head) which when pressed lit up a green light to show it was on. This reset itself each time the ignition was turned off. Therefore if no button.......... no heated mirrors.
